Hi there, my name is Yvo and I am 33 years old and recently I quit my job as a police officer to make videos of ponds, gardens and the Japanese Koi fish. Why? Well, for 10 years I have been inspired by a fish that is bought all over the world by people with a pond. Small, big everyone can buy a Japanese Koi as a pet. My dream is to build a big pond and grow my own Koi. But before I do I get inspiration from all over the world and make videos of my adventures.

What a beautiful set up. I can only dream about having the large sums of money his hobbies require.
The addition of the greenhouse in the style/aesthetic of his existing home was an outstanding addition to keep the koi safe and healthy.
You may want to consider the same addition to your koi pond, Yvo, since the winters in the Netherlands can be wet, cold and nasty🤔🤔🥰🥰🤗🤗😘😘

I've been the President of the local koi club but no pond yet . 16 X 32 x 6 two glass windows in a green house is my dream. God if I could only win the lottery .lol.

That goldfish in the tank is very pretty, but it needs a friend. Koi are supreme, but goldfish are definitely not utilized enough in ponds; a group of the red/white 'sarasa' can look incredible and their smaller size better suits most home garden ponds.

Having a permanent greenhouse with only 1/2 of the roof of translucent polycarbonate will the koi get enough sunlight and avoid loosing colour in the long run? Will it require lamps? And someone please get rid of the rocks and gravel from the bottom of the second pond (and bury the landscaper under a pile of his mulch...)
Thank you Paul for this comment! I am a huge fan of koi ponds without gravel… it’s one of the most terrible things you can do putting gravel in a “koi pond”. Yes UV-lights are placed in the Greenhouse now if I am informed right ;)

Maybe for a next project it’s fun to put huge window there. But my personal opinion I like ponds in the ground more. But this greenstones and pond is so beautiful 😻 😊
This is fantastic. I live a few hours from here, and too have been thinking about how to best deal with the cold winters. I'd love to see an update on this project.
If its not too much to ask, could you please find out from Hunter and Savannah what the projected monthly operating cost are for Scott's pond, including heat?

How are the 7 bottom drains Plumbed up to the filters? the pond water level is lower than all the filters
They are pump fed
Any idea if the second pond in this video (in nashua, nh) is heated, or of the koi come in for the winter?
The water is a little greenish. Is it because of exposure to sunlight? It's not clear like its suppose to be.
The biological filtration was not performing yet, the water is now clear 😃
Who said water is "supposed" to be totally clear?

I think if I had the money, I would build a huge indoor pond like this. Somewhere where you can sit all year round and enjoy the fish. Also, the fish would be on the whole more healthy. No predator attacks and would be less susceptible to diseases /parasites etc I think too.

10s of thousands of dollars in filtration, water flow, and the water still wasn't very clear.
Hi Anthony, the pond was just filled and the biological filter was not working as it should be at that moment. The pond is crystal clear atm 😊
