  • The continuation of the repair of the motor from a Technics RS-M250. Covers disassembly of the motor itself with a couple of tips on how to avoid a potentially big mistake.
Even so, I managed to make a big mistake of my own - I didn't pay enough attention the the actual assembled polarity - I assumed pos - pos, but in fact in needed to be reversed on the PCB to get the motor to spin in the correct CCW rotation. So, photograph and mark everything.
To be honest, if you can get a new replacement motor, that would probably be the better bet.
After all that, the deck is working very nicely.
Update: I've moved away from using Ceragrease from the motor bearing surfaces. Oil seems to be the general consensus. I uses Cera for plastic to other surfaces, and silicone oil where that is more appropriate.

Well done, i liked the felt packing substitute.
I didn't see you clean the commutators, but i'm sure you did.
I hope the speed was steady and no odd effects.

Yes, a quick spray with cleaner as it was pretty clean in there. Not everything gets recorded, but you are correct that it should be noted.

EXCELLENT, ASK, SOME TRICK TO PUT THE VARIABLE RESISTANCE EXTERNAL AND REPLACE IT WITH A POTENTIOMETER! (WHAT A SERIOUS VALUE) TO MAKE ITS CALIBRATION EASIER ?, I HAVE THE ORIGINAL MOTORS WITH THE FAULT Q THEY SLOW

I think the variable resistor inside the motor is 200ohm. You should be able to desolder it, run the wires out through the adjustment hole and connect to a multi-rotation type.

Yep, and if you read the blurb I mentioned I no longer use it for the bearings. That said, that motor is still working happily. Oil's the thing.
