  • oh man what a fun few weeks! Cabrinha lent me these two wings and it's been fun to ride them and getting to know them. you may have noticed I have been riding a v3 Mantis lately, and really digging it. so I was eager to try the v4, and guess what?!? got me stoked. this is a mostly full review of these two wings in the same video, riding each for multiple sessions, two sessions with both wings back-to-back. I hope you dig it.
life is busy these days! I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to get this video this done by Friday, but here we are. HUGE thanks to Steven at Cabrinha and Phil, my wing dealer at kitesite.net for making this happen. you are both awesome and I really appreciate the experience :)

Thanks so much Chris! Yeah a 3m-4m would def get a lot of use for me… kinda over the big wings and starting to size down more with the DW board and decent front foils.
Hope all is well bud and sending windy thoughts your way!

    Great video.
    I have a V1 Mantis 6m and a V2 Mantis 5m.
The 6m is great, sometimes a bit wild if your way out of the wing range (~35kt+)
The V2 5m can be a bit squirrely and seems to like to flip over when you crash.
I put both through rough conditions (winter winging on ice/snow) and heavy winds/ concrete/ plowing through trees getting to the lake and no issues with build so far.
That double connection hose looks nice for inflating quicker but personally would love to see two separate bladders and inflation valves one for the strut and leading edge.
*I agree those bags are great I shove both wings in a single bag.

Sup bud! I haven’t handles a v2 or v1, but I think they fixed the squirrelly-ness in the v3. And I dont think it flips a ton but I do always try to keep them close so they don’t flip. So upgrading to a v3 is probably worth it, even if it’s just for the handles. And not super expensive either. I def respect that. Hope all is well bud!

Jeremy, thanks for the new review. I use a V3 Mantis in four sizes. It's my favorite. I had a Vision V1 (7m) and sold it because I really missed the stiffness and did not like the dehydral. Therefore, I changed to a Mantis 6m as my biggest wing. I am missing my wings .. as traveling

yeah I really dig the v3 and the v4 Mantis! I'm thinking I may grab a 3.5m or 4m for it to be my surf wing in some windier conditions. I have a 3.5m v1 Strike that needs to be replaced. glad yr digging them too! I hope you get back to you wings soon bud, I wish you an awesome rest of your weekend!

Great review! I've been the biggest Mantis fanboy. Owned V1, V2, and V3 but after multiple cracked inflation valves I'll never buy another. Almost everyone in PCB rode Cabrinha, we've all had valve issues, almost everyone has switched brands now.

Right on bud! I haven’t had that happen. did it happen on different versions or mostly the v3? I did have some issues with my v3 but Cabrinha took care of them.

I'm also thinking about switching to a more reliable valve system. With Cabrinha you literally need another spare wing in your quiver.

@@rmad1311bummer that’s your experience with Cab. I break all my wings quick enough in wave season that I try to always have backups anyway.

Hi, thanks for this review and all your work. How do you compare those wings to f-one? Is mantis closer to srike, swing or maybe orgin? And viaion? Does your old cabrinha wing baggs as f-one or is it better? Thx 🤙

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  Před 29 dny

sup bud! the Mantis seems to be closer to the Swing IMO, Vision a little closer to the Strike. I def prefer the Mantis and Swing. my old Cab wing bags about the same. Last year's F-One bagged out super quick for me, and is heavier. so I kinda prefer the bagged out Cab cause it acts lighter, although weight-wise it may weight more. I just like the way it drifts in lighter winds better. and the handle... love the handle. thanks, I wish you an awesome weekend!

The 2 valves also helps locate the inner strut so it wont twist inside and pop when you pump it up.

Right on. I like how they tie off the bladder on the strut. I did discuss that but ended up taking that out of the video cause I didn’t think anyone would be interested 😜👊
