  • In this video, we explore the latest version of the Cabrinha Mantis wing, the Mantis V3, which has been designed to push the limits of wing foiling. We'll also be taking a look at the Cabrinha Vision alongside it.
    The Mantis wing has set the benchmark for stability and rigidity in the sport, and its latest version has been refined to maximize its true potential. We learn how the increased convex dihedral and new Convex Strut have expanded the range of the Mantis, providing an increased power-to-stability ratio, making it the cleanest and most efficient wing to date. Additionally, the refined airfoil section in the critical area of the wing has increased the low-end power of the Mantis, further expanding its range of use.
    Secondly, we learn how Cabrinha's Design Works Team has shown the foresight to see where the sport of wing foiling is going and has created the next generation wing, the Cabrinha Vision, for the next generation of wing foilers.

    My V1 Cabrinha Mantis leashes both broke (one after just a couple sessions) so happy to use another brand! Love the wings though and excited to try the V3.

      Sorry to hear your wings were part of the "bad batch" of leashes. We ended up replacing all of the ones we sold and stocked back then. New Cab leashes are great but I tend to prefer the amsteel rope type myself. F-one, Ozone, Kaohi, PKS, ect... - Tucker

      @@MACkiteboarding Thanks for the response. Didn't realize there was a bad batch! haha. Fortunately a kitefoiler rescued my first wing before it hit the rocks and the second one washed up on the beach and laid down flat until I could catch up to it. The local shop gave me a couple slingshot leashes I've been using ever since. I'll have to try one of the rope style leashes.

    I love the turkeys in the background! While I don't like it, I can understand why the eliminated the leash. However, why would they get rid of the pinch clamps? They are a cheap safety feature. Do they sell them separately?

      Thanks Stephen, the turkeys, ducks, geese, chickens were being loud jerks becasue they knew I was outside and it was almost dinertime ;)
      Cabrinha tells me they believe the strut clamps compromise the frame becasue they help equalize the pressure between the bladders when the flex, crash, ect... I understand that reasoning. In fact, back in my wakestyle kiting days I'd always leave my clamps open for that reason. However, I've never had issues isolating bladders while winging so I think they are being a little overly cautious with reguard to blowouts when they should be prioritizing rider safety by keeping one bladder inflated as a floatation aid. Just my 2c.

    Did they solve the issue of the center strut bladder popping that was seen in the V2 as a result of folding since the bladder isn't pinned?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes, haven't had any issues. It was an isolated issue on the V2s. -Tucker

      No, just playing around. We were both aware of each other. -Tucker

    Nice video Tucker, I need your advice, I currently have a 5.5m slick (not SLS) and was thinking about either the Fone V2 5.5 or the 5m Cabrinha. I am 86kg and and ride a Fanatic Style 85ltr. I was unsure of the .5m difference and if the Cabrinha 5m could work for me?

      Hey, there-great question, my friend. 🤙🏽 This one would best be handled with a phone call. Got a moment to chat? (800) 622-4655

      Hi Dan, I'd say the 5m Vision or Mantis would be fine. You might lose 1 mph on the low end but mostly the same range. If you go for a Strike, I'd go 5m for sure or you'll lose top end range. -Tucker

    Why did they discontinue the double strut design found in the Crosswing?

    Have you had a chance to try to the Vision in 3m -- how is the stability in gusts and high end range? It's a pretty attractive price for a well-made wing, so an insight on how it works in the small sizes would be helpful. Also, how sensitive/durable is the window material? Thanks!!!

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  Před rokem

      I haven't flown a 3m but the 4m was plenty stable and handled gusts well by flexing at the wingtip. The window material is the more flexible type which hasn't had any issues with durability, even in freezing temps. -Tucker

    have it down to the North Nova light wind 8m or the Cabrinha Vison 8m for my first wing. I'm 225lbs and not nearly as nimble as I used to be so as similar as they seem to be I'd like to choose the one that will help my progression the most. Any chance you can point me in the right direction ? Any help would be appreciated

      Thank you for sharing the stoke, my friend. 🤙🏽 Sound like you’re on the right path, as both of those wings are great choices. Keep an eye on the Duotone Ventis as well. Also, don’t hesitate to give us a shout-we’re always happy to help! Ask for the wing team: 800.622.4655 🔥 Good winds to you!

      Tough call. Both are excellent wings with the power you need for those light wind days. I'd say the Vision has more range and a more comfortable handle. However, it's also got a wider wingspan to deal with. One wing that everyone should check out for light wind is the North Loft Pro. That's been a top choice for our riders since it's been released as well. Feel free to call to discuss further 800.622.4655 -Tucker
