I do so enjoy the way you all work together, thank you for sharing.
Please add KY jelly to your next provision list😅❤
Works great for pulling wires in conduit too 😇
Baaaabe... 😅 We've all been there! You guys have a great partnership ❤
I am never going to be able to look at KY the same way....
That was the best laugh. Not telling why the KY was almost empty.
Dont know why you guys dont have 500,000 subs. Your knowledge and skill are on point
This was about a family sailing and became about rebuilding their salvaged boat. Many subscribers want sailing not building.
Id disagree. Building channel's typically have more views.
I recon its the lack of click bait titles and T and A on screen contlstantly... you know, quality content instead!!
At any given time, a channel may be doing build/retrofit/repair instead of sailing- we just jump around not relying on just a channel or two, and one of those that we watch might be sailing on a given day. also, although we are too old to aspire to get a boat and sail the world, I can see that the build/repair videos will give a reality check to those who aspire to live the sailing life😊
I guess I’m opinionated enough to comment on the build/repair/modify/improve/sail/nave fun etc etc type You Tube videos
This is what makes the great ones………….
Quality cameras
Movie quality editing
Reliable releases when they say ie weekly on time
Hosts who can tell a STORY about their subject and don’t talk about themselves!! (could be scripted, but doesn’t matter, it is still good)
Involves other people besides the host
Best examples I watch
1 Sampson boat co ( Tally Ho story)
2 Jay Lenos garage
3 Sailing Dauntless
4 Harry’s Garage
5 SV Delos
6 Sailing Ran
I know they are bias to cars and yachts but that is what I am into
I love good You Tube
Almost nothing is as bad as bad CZcams
This content, with Ty's quality of work, is 100% the reason I watch this channel. Awesome work.
Ty flip your tape around so when you apply the tape it will tighten on itself! Love your videos!!
The million dollar man has absolutely nothing on you with your massive high speed!
Great vid, looking forward to the next one.
And you just showed what good people you are by putting the Hooker Pumps logo on your sea chest. That's why I love you guys! BTW, I have a tube of KY lube in my tool kit. It's multipurpose! And I have to say that I'm thrilled for you both that Kim had the lube close-at-hand. 😎 "If the boat's rockin', Don't come knockin'!" Be well. ❤
this is the kind of content I come here for!
Hey Ty
I don't normally give comments. However, I love your channel and your family. Since the girls are starting their own lives and the editing responsibility I know how busy you guys are with your wonderful projects, please bribe either your daughter to take it back or your wife or explore hiring a outside editor. Dont get me wrong, you do a wonderful job, it's just they stop coming in on a regular timeline. And the projects you two are doing are outstanding, it's just that you have soiled your fans, me included, of completion even though I realize you down two crew but we hang your weekly release. Please take this from love your channel. Best to you and your wonderful family

This episode was brought to you by KY Jelly it's not just for intimacy but works on boats and yachts too.
It’s ok Kim menopause sucks. No worries ❤
Amen!
Amazing work Ty!!! Those barb fittings are a PITA but do seal great! Love the boat projects!!
I have to comment on your technique with the drill/driver..every diy video I watch doesn't put adequate positive pressure to avoid slippage.
Good work habits and intelligent design is fun to watch 👏👏👏
Sounds like a 747 taking off.
Hello Ty. It has always been my understanding (and practice) to NOT put any barrier, either teflon tape or sealant of any kind, on the plug holding the anode. My understanding has been that for the anode to work optimally, there has to be complete electrical contact between the anode and the metal housing it is there to protect. Possible I have been wrong in this thinking.
Those pumps are killer and yes they come at a killer price! I am guessing you will want to have a backup in storage because it will be very hard to get that down island!
With great thanks to the KY folks!!!!
Just a suggestion… Having seen all of you digging for various items in the MANY hatches in the floor, I wonder if you could use the ToteScan stickers (or similar product) for some of your organization. They allow you to catalog items by the tote (or in your case, hatch) in the app and then find it later by item name/tag/keyword, if needed. You could mount the sticker on the backside of the hatch cover and keep a paper map of the hatch locations for reference. Because it seems some items may go in an “unusual” place because of size/other, it may be challenging to locate something days/weeks/months later. So say a tool is needed in an emergency and Ty is not available, the app would know where something is and allow it to be retrieved quickly. Really love the detailed information in your videos, and how you make maintenance and repairs a learning experience!
For future projects, soapy water makes a great lubricant for attaching rubber hoses to barbed fittings. Just dip hose into soapy water solution the length of the fitting and then attach.
Great job!
If I had to do that I would CRY......but not where anyone could see me.
Hairspray can be used for hoses over barbed fittings, when it dries it seals damn well too! KY also useful for pulling wire through conduit :) I nearly died when you lubed up that second hose 🤣
Holy shit it’s a tight fit “that’s what she said”
I am here all night lol
I've been using loctite PST 592 thread sealant for years and years and used on plastic threads too
Great work:)) John 5:24
Nice to see the finished manafold for your A/C now hope the summer will be a cool one.
Not hating on the work, looks awesome, the KY though ......
Nerd on, please. 😄
That’s why plumbers putty is better because u don’t gotta worry about how you put it on and it does the same thing.
just ask for Kentucky Jelly next time Ty
He puts that hell on “EVERYTHING”
Great videos! Congrats on the new sponsor KY Lube!!!! “It just glides on.”🎉😂🎉
Re: Teflon tape... Back in the early 2000s I worked in a hydraulic shop and when we were assembling systems meant for a few thousand PSI, we only used 4 or 5 wraps of the standard white tape, so that 8 or 9 wraps of the thick stuff is way more than sufficient.
I thought you are supposed to apply the lube on the male end instead of the female end LOL Great job.
Nice work! Pipe well laid
How far along are you on re-wiring the boat and replacing all the electrical you had to pull out?
Wow! Fellow marine nerd here. Love the work.
Best, Whit.
Try using liquid dishwashing detergent a second time. It's less embarrassing :)
It sounds like a jet getting ready to take off.
Hey Ty, where are you guys? Still with us?😢 missing your videos 😢
Ty, you continue to provide us with very useful information and knowledge. I look forward to the content of the next video. Thanks to the whole crew for sharing.
Man you giving me sooooo much material
Im always love waiting for the next video.... 😊
Mate!! That is brilliant. Maybe add an isolator for your pumps down below so you don’t have to Hey Babe🤣🤣 could you use that well to supply cooling water to the generator also?? As every time we pop a hull over a wave the genny would suck air and shut down. Love this stuff, you building my to do list through the roof🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺
This episode brought to by KY....
Excellent vid on setting up your AC system. Learning a lot from your vids...Thanks!
Ty and his wife are a solid team great content..
❤d the ky fun❤
Always love your content! In fact, I believe your niece is my step daughter :-)
Did you guys sink or something?
Future consideration 2" PVC Schedule 80 Street Tee, allow closer connections.
Yay. Congratulations on a job good finish
Nice job
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great job ! The capacity of that pump is very impressive! When you re-install the whale pump make sure you install the motor up ! If any fitting or pump leak you don't want water to migrate to the electric motor!😊
Hi if y'all coming to Belize central America i wud want to say hi to y'all
Dawn dishwashing detergent works great as a lube for hoses and washes off as well
I wondered if dish soap could be used.
why plywood and gelcoat? and not starboard? not judging just curious. seems to have the same workability as wood.
starboard is $450 a sheet
been a while since a post guys, everything ok?
love the teck.
Excellent vid!!
"Hey Babe... you realize how brilliant your husband is? I have pioneered a new AC system for yachts!"
As usual a job well done!! Great video Ty thanks
Great Job, love the show
Astroglide is superior in every way. :)
Silicone or water base? Astroglide was invented by two NASA engineers trying to improve the cooling system for the space shuttle program.
Love the nerd!😊
Hay if the KY is safe for human to consume it safe for the fish to consume
Have you guys stopped posting videos?
Galvanic isolator only decouples your boat from everyone else's in a marina when hooked to shore power. Galvanic corrosion (electrolysis) on board will still be driven by dissimilar metals not bonded or experiencing a high resistance connection to each other.
Great job! A quick point, I couldn’t see a bilge alarm. I have an auto bilge pump and a bilge alarm just in case the pump packs up. Maybe a thought for you guys as you move forward. Andy fb Sailingtula. (Not Ula that’s our previous boat)
Outstanding episode! I love the do it right/over-do it right way you build/fix things. On an upcoming show, can you give everyone a time frame for your first sail? Destination? I know the fixes will never end, but ready to see you guys going somewhere, enjoying this cat!
So any updates since 4 weeks ago?
8 to 10 wraps, too many. NPT fittings need to engage more for strength and leak proofing.
If you used the same mic when recording the previous pump, it sounds like the new pump is MUCH quieter.
Are you guys OK? . . . No video for 4 weeks! Having boat build withdrawals. 🙂
What kinda KY LUBE … well at least you guys got it on hand lol!!
Great job. How many amps for the pump?
SD hi from Alberta Canada. As usual great technical and comedic content. Put a whole new spin on "hey babe bring me some lotion or lube please". You now owe someone a new tube of lube next trip to Walgreens.
I fail to understand why sea chests are not part of new boat SEL's in the first place. Obviously not to the capacity and quality of yours but still what CAT isn't going to have AC requirements 90% of the time. Its just great to watch an owner who knows what tool is required when and how to use it properly (except Teflon tape 😅). Enjoy endless AC.
It would be nice to see a diagram of your plumbing….
Lmao. Awsom bros
Classic Ty, “shit, it’s like I planned it that way” lol!!! Assembly lube is Genius!!!
You might consider adding some acoustic materials like mass loaded vinyl to reduce the sound level
Been waiting for your return.. Have you found anyone who can use the Sche, 40 rig you made? LOL
Dish soap would of been less embarrassing than KY Jelly
Enjoying very much as it is so applicable to what I plan to do in the near future. I am curious how you plan to control the pump. I can't imagine you'd want it running all the time. A simple relay would work, but are you going to try and take advantage of the variable speed to increase efficiency and how do you plan to make that happen? Great stuff Ty!!!
Would the use of cam locks made any difference for repairs & cost difference?
Did you put the foam material back in?
Nice and tight is what she said.
I'm not optimistic about the massive reduction in your publishing since the Mid-december
Why don't you build that manifold out of copper..
Better fit a massive flooding bilge pump and fit in there just in case and an alarm!
Hey Babe I liked the video.
👍✅👏
Why not subtitles?
its still processing
♥@@SailingDauntless
That title reads like a category from "Whose line is it anyway."..... Things you can say about your boat.... but not .......
We love the nerdy content we can't wait to see you get into the nuts and bolts of how much energy the air conditioning and pumps are using. We're going to be air conditioning the v-berth on a 1954 steel boat and in the name of Simplicity we want to use a 12-volt system I don't know if this will be practical but I'm watching everyone of your videos and what you're doing.
Awesome job!
