The main issue with him (other than being possessed by Ra’Am) was that he was undyingly loyal to Lorgar and when he was forced to choose between the imperium and his gene family he chose his family. He absolutely chose wrong, but it was his choice to make. Also I forgot poor Iarto Khoura was killed by Corvus Corax in a fit of rage (I will defend his innocence until GW confirms treachery)

He was clearly loyal enough to the WB dark path to escape the purging by the Dark Council prior to the heresy and fanatical enough to be included in the roster of Calth. • @estebanatachaoarguedas6321

The fact the first Marine meeting the Anchorite in millennia was an Imperial Fist is so poetic...
The Black Templars were born from the most zealous of them (the Imperial Fists), but as a form of punishment because Dorn didn't wanted to hear any of his sons calling the Emperor a god. Yet that zealotry resulted in a weapon and a shield against the power of the Warp, and the Anchorite demonstrated the true potential of such faith.

Lhorke was the Legion Master for the then War Hounds before Angron was discovered, before he was severely injured on the planet Jeracau and led a unit of prototype Dreadnought which is really cool.
After Angron was found, he took part in an internal revolt of sorts to try and stop the butchers nails being adopted for the entire legion, but after the Centurion who led the rebellion was killed by Khârn he had to bend the knee to Angron, interestingly, he was spared the butchers nails given his status as a Dreadnought.
He didn't take part in Isstvan III and could only watch, deeply horrified as his fellow War Hounds were killed upon that planet, but remained loyal to his Legion and to Angron, fast-forward to the Shadow Crusade, as Angron was being transformed into a Daemon Prince by Lorgar, Primarch of the Word Bearers, Lhorke attempted to stop this by attacking the Urizen, only to be sadly attacked and torn apart by Angron as he was transforming.
While Lhorke wasn't like Huron Fal or Rylanor who fought on Isstvan III, he did try to halt his Legion's corruption to The Blood God by stopping his Primarch's apotheosis, plus considering he didn't have the butchers nails, he had to see how his Legion of once noble and honourable warriors turned into bloodthirsty beserkers, he's not as well known but I still like to give him credit as a Loyalist Dreadnought from a Traitor Legion because if he did get sent to Isstvan III, he would've fought like Rylanor did.
(Sorry for the super long reply, But I felt like Lhorke deserved the length)

He, along with Rylanor and The Fel Handed are amongst the best dreadnaughts. The Anchorite is one such peculiar dreadnaught though, because supposedly they go crazy after a millenia or two, but the anchorite was interred for 10 millenia 😅 idk if it is because he is already broken to begin with, or his faith is that strong it is already madness 😂

My question is was the emperor testing them or did he think it was just a test and the Emperor was actually just punishing them? because at this point I don’t know what the emperor wants. at first It seemed like he wanted to truly atheistic logic base society, but the same time he dressed up in a massive gold suit of armor with a flaming sword, and a literal halo of light around himself, and somehow expected Not to be worshiped.

Since the Emperor is the God of Humanity, thanks to Lorgar Aurelian all of Colchis is freed and purified from the cult of Chaos (thanks to his colchisian crusaders led by the true and pious Erebus: Truth Bearers).
Lorgar Aurelian is the one who then founds the Ecclesiarchy with his Crusader Order: the Frateris Militaris.
Lorgar Aurelian is like Ascalon Troyes, equal to Rogal Dorn and Sanguinius!
(Illuminarum is not a maul but a mace)
If Rogal Dorn is the Latin Catholic then Lorgar Aurelian is the Greek Orthodox.
And that's why the name of his Legion, the Word Bringers (Word Bearers + Truth Bringers).
    (Byzantine Crusader type)
