I used to go from Stretford to Wythenshaw when I was a kid in the 50's. I thought it was in the 'country. I loved all the greenery and trees. We used to walk down to Ringway and watch the propeller planes take off. I remember it well, but my dad, who is approaching 94 (and now lives here in Australia) has much longer memories of growing up there. His first school was Brownley Green. His own dad worked at Potts Farm. Anybody remember that? I used to go there to see the pigs. I think it had a moat.
i grew up in Woodhouse Park (workhouse park).. i lived in Austell Road and attended Woodhouse Park Infant & Junior School before moving to Moss Nook Secondary Modern School.. i left Manc-land before anyone even thought of a shopping centre just up from Crossacres, never mind calling Wythenshawe a town. i remember walking to 'the bug hut' in Northenden, before The Forum was built.. i've been back since but was so disappointed to see what has been done to my 'playground'. The heart of the area has been ripped apart.. so sad..
When working class people owned their shops. uk ran by billionaires and massive companies like Tesco. Shame to see lots of shops go. I like Wythenshawe

So may memories before my youth I was sale moor lad Pulford Rd behind norris Rd, the yew tree pub a load of us biker lads used to go in there now and then on our x7s and rd's early 80 when I was you and game as top video well put together ❤️

One one of the slides-Hollyhedge Shops- is spelt incorrectly, it should be HOLLYHEDGE and not HOLYEDGE (3:16 mins in).
I believe Greenbrow Parade is correct. Flats close behind are the giveaway. Minsterley flats were further away.
