    I live in Tucson AZ. One day I was sitting in my truck listening to Stuart Liddell on bagpipes when to my amazement roadrunners (a bird native to the American Southwest) began landing on the roof and hood of the truck. Apparently Stuart is a hit with these eccentric birds. 🤣🤣

    I'm not sure how Stuart Liddell manages to move his fingers so quickly and also make it sound like there are a couple of pipers playing at the same time. Guess that's why he's won so many world championships. :)

    • @w.reidripley1968
      @w.reidripley1968 Před rokem +1

      See, pipes are more or less modular. Top to bottom, you have two tenor drones and one bass drone pitched one octave below the tenors, which are one octave below the chanter; in the middle your bag of wind with the stocks tied into it carefully placed for comfort; then you have the chanter he's fingering, where the melody comes out. And we don't forget the blow-stick to supply the air.
      And the cloth bag cover to keep the bag dressing off your jacket if your leather bag is inclined to do that. Or go high tech and use a bag of Gore-Tex.
