📱 What screen recorder am I using?
I use Camtasia to make all my videos. From my experience it's the best screen recorder available, and I like the built in video editor and cursor effects. Check it out here: techsmith.z6rjha.net/ba9x0M

Thank you very much!!! It might be cool to apply a "displacement" effect, with the graphics deforming according to the background for greater realism. Unfortunately (at least on Mac) managing the filters necessary to obtain this effect causes continuous crashes of Inkscape, but the result is excellent!

That alt arrow key trick for kerning is next level! Thank you, Rick!! That will save me oodles of time! As always, so enjoy your tutorials and all the tips and tricks you weave throughout them! Just so you know, when I went to repeat your graffiti tutorial, I noticed Motion is no longer an option. “Long shadow” accomplishes the intended effect but might be worth mentioning in the description of that older video!

Thanks so much!! I’ll go back to the graffiti video- thanks for the heads up. Been thinking of making another graffiti video that extends beyond copying spray paint technique and uses Inkscape capabilities instead. Thanks again!

Thank you for another great tutorial Rick. I've learned so much from you. I do a lot of Inkscape art that begins with photos of trees (it often involves much clipping and masking and many layers of filters :-D ). I admire the digital/photographic art that other artists make in Photoshop, where they put different colours in the gaps between the tree branches to give a sort of stained glass effect. Do you know if it's possible to create this stained glass effect in Inkscape? Thanks!

Awesome as always, Rick. For what it's worth, I still wear my flannels and love the grunge music of my youth.
Quick one: Maybe I've missed it, but I'm still a little lost on how the shape builder tool works. If you haven't already, can you do a tutorial on how this works effectively and how it differs from intersection, difference, and exclusion. I'm just confused with these tools and what use they are.
    Thanks again!

Thanks so much! Listening to Nirvana on the train right now. Should have worn a flannel. Ha. I do need to make a proper Shape Builder video. Here’s one I did, but it was quick and not full guide: Inkscape Shape Builder Tiger Logo Design Tutorial

Small comment. When you have a rectangle that you want to size things to, you could copy and then select the new object and paste height and width. I don't know if it works for other shapes; eg copy and oval and then paste a shape as an oval.

I am still the one asked for a Paris map, one of your latest videos you answered one of my comments that you will do some tryings in the weekend.
I am particularly interested to see how to create 3, 4 different versions as soon as you finish the map.
Maybe easily converting to a different color palette and also different frame (like circular, rectangle etc).
So when we finalize a map we will have a project file with multiple versions of the same map ( different color palettes x different frames)
It would be kind of longer map video than ypur regular which I would love to watch minimum 10 times 😁😁
      All the abest Rick

A way to save a little bit of time when resizing things is select the object that you want the size to be, copy it just like you copy text. Then select the object that you want to resize and go to Edit>Paste... and select size (or whatever other part you want resized). On a side note. Can we just go back to the 90s please? That was peak humanity.
