    (1) Create 'A' text
    (2) Click twice and move center of rotation to desired center of circle.
    (3) Create Tiled Clones: Rows 48 Columns 1, Shift - Per row - Shift Y negative 100%, Rotation - Per row - Angle 360/48, Create
    (4) Select All clones
    (5) Edit - Clone - Unlink Clone
    (6) Proceed to select and copy/paste
    OR
    Edit - XML Editor, expand each element (text, then tspan, then the content), and paste text
    Note: The original and first clone will overlap, so delete one of them

      I found another way since the path for 'put on path' doesn't have to be continuous. This method works better for lines of similar lengths.
      (1) Create text by copying and pasting the whole poem
      (2) Create a horizontal path with 2 points, ideally as long as the longest line
      (3) Path effects - Rotate copies. Change to the required number so the rotation angle will change, then untick 'Distribute evenly' and put a minus sign on the angle. Otherwise the text will flow the opposite way. Offset the center of the rotation as you did in your video
      (5) Click this LPE object and the text
      (6) Text - Put on path
      However, the text will now be continuous and not break. You can adjust by inserting spaces but this will be a lot of work for many lines. But it's quite fun since you can play around with the original path (adjust angle, make a curvy path). You can also convert the LPE to Object and then adjust and delete the nodes but you can't modify the LPE anymore.
      Anyway, thanks for all the lessons!

    Seeing the miniature I was thinking how will you do that. And I think It would be hard to make it the other way. Good work as usual.

      I played with a few other methods and although this one was manual, it works. I am curious if anyone knows a setting or something I’m missing??

    • @Inkscape-tutorial-pl
      @Inkscape-tutorial-pl Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@IronEchoDesign I don't think you are missing anything. I was thinking about putting text on path, then turn all letters 90 digrees (by changing angle or putting words to be vertical), and then convert text to glyphs. But not only I'm not sure if it would work. It would also need as much manual work you did and you woudn't have as much control as in rotating copies vrsion. So yeah. U think it's the best way to do this with this tool. Also - It just works.

    • @Inkscape-tutorial-pl
      @Inkscape-tutorial-pl Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@IronEchoDesign Ok, I checked it out. After converting text to glyphs, the whole "text on path" effect is gone, and letters are not on the path anymore. So my solution wouldn't work. There is a script that converts multiline text to individual lines. So maybe there is some way, but I'm still not sure.

      @Inkscape-tutorial-pl thanks- we think alike. I did try that method, hoping it may work. It did create an interesting effect, but not the intended outcome. Ha.

  • @CTRL_SMarcos
    @CTRL_SMarcos Před 3 měsíci +1

    I really like that effect, thanks for the video. I've been playing with text clones, since they accept LPE and if the text was the same it would work, but I can't seem to individualize the lines once placed to edit the text separately. I'm pretty sure there is a way to do this, but I can't figure out how to accomplish it 😥🤣

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thanks! Same here. I tried unlinking clones. Tried grouping before running LPE. Rearrange. There must be a way. Or if not, I at least have the template now. 😅

  • @LV4EVR
    @LV4EVR Před 3 měsíci +2

    Love this concept! I'm too lazy (or a-retentive) to copy/paste into so many individual text "boxes." I assume Inkscape doesn't do linked text boxes/frames? If not, I'd be inclined to use something like Affinity Publisher where you can link all the frames. Set up like this, but with linked frames, you'd be able to paste into the first frame and flow into the following frames. Of course, you'd have to edit (hit Enter/Return) where the breaks should be. BUT, finding a way to do this programmatically would be fantastic!

    1) Rotate copies of a Bezier line 2) Convert all the copies to paths (ctrl+shift+c) 3) Combine them (ctrl+k) 4) Paste the text as a single text object 5) Select text and the combined path 6) From menu Text->Put on path 7) Adjust individual line lengths by moving the end node of the line while holding down ctrl+alt

      @@IronEchoDesign when you were commentating, you mentioned there being a couple ways to do it. I was curious what other ways

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Space bar was one of them. There is also a complicated way to set up Tiled Clones and have them rotate automatically. But the repetitive way was the simple solution.
