The cost of hardwood boards is ludicrous so recycling them makes really good sense. That's why hardwoods aren't used in any new furniture anymore & also why new furniture breaks so easily.
Hello again, that is for sure, they really have cut back on quality wood frames. There’s so many pieces of furniture being thrown out, we will only have to buy a little amount of wood for a project. Omg, LOVE those aprons! That jute webbing was such a creative idea for being an upholsterer. P.S. are you able to give estimates from photos and measurements via email? I have a couple of pieces I'd like done, but have no clue if it's going to be within my financial means to get it done properly. They are a matching couch and chair, framed with exposed wood and claw feet.

Tell you the truth, I think you should use silver, silk tassel rope. The ball chain will tarnish and not look shiny like the Mylar. 🤔

I don’t know. The twine might be too natural and a “casual” look not fitting with the high shine of the Mylar and the lux sheen of the velvet
Have you thought about maybe a leather thong to add some contrast instead? Kinda branches both.
Hello, Good point I do like that idea. Funny I was for the ball -chain in the beginning, but now the wood tone to me looks great. So I feel more toward the twine. Please vote on what your second choice would be if you havn;t already. Will run the leather by Grant. Cheers, Paul
