Gwen is an under-rated sprinter. She contributed so much to the field, and the athletics community is forever grateful for Gwen's contributions! Bravo, Gwen!

Not to take anything away from the winner but Ottey stole the show

Ottey was the best anchor, hands down

What an amazing run that was for Merlene Ottey, she really made a comeback to get that bronze 🥉 she did so well. I love her so much.

If they had better handoffs they would've won. JA thinks handoffs are an after thought. If they wanted to ensure they would never lose 4x100 relays they'd practice year round. I believe their schedule has them practicing one week or two weeks before the championships.
If you watched the University of Texas girls team this year, they got it to 41.5 seconds, and it took time to get it to that point. Their handoffs were made under top speed, with no bobbling or second guessing.

Track commentators were so bad in the 90's. That last leg was a battle between US and BAH smh

They totally expected a US/JAM battle and kept harping on that pre-race. When it came time for the anchors to run, the dude didn't even look closely, just assumed it was the same two countries!

Jamaica 3rd leg was so weak only if Ottey was closer she would caught Torrance

It's not about the legs it's about the handoffs. The reason why 4 11.00 seconds 100m ladies can clock a 42.00 or 41.50 is due to handoffs, if the handoffs were bad they would clock 44.00 or 45.00 or 46.00 seconds. Jamaica doesn't like to practice handoffs and insists that it's individuals performer strengths are good enough to overlook perfect baton exchanges.
The University of Texas girls team did 41.50 seconds this year and had several clocks under 42.00 seconds. This is due to team work and practicing it over and over and over again.

Privalova's anchor leg was so crappy. Even freaking Pauline Davis had a faster leg, LOL! No idea what was wrong with her at these Games but she was awful when usually she is running up with Ottey, Torrence, Devers (in the 100), and Perec (in the 200).
