75’ and 76’ stage or suitcase models were very good years for the Rhodes. CBS must’ve had a good crew then. I had a 76’ stage that I bought from a high school a few towns over. It was very dynamic, rich, and warm sounding. Nice overhaul man. It’s tedious work with a lot of it key by key, but it’s rewarding in the end. I stopped gigging with mine after the hours of work I put into it. Every time I took it out I’d notice a new scratch or it would sound different to me. Not worth it, save em for recording.

      Mine for studio work only.
      Yes, I LOVE the tone!
It’s funny, in some circles 1975-1976 pianos have a bad reputation. 🤷‍♂️

Would love to have that sweet Rhodes. Good job making this video. It's a good idea to test key pedestal bump size before you commit cutting them with a set up harp. That way you can avoid them being too big and having the hammer cam kiss them when falling back for re-strike = double strike.

Amazing, great job!! I'm curently restoring and early '76 and I'm not sure what hammer tips should I choose. Which ones did you install?

      Thanks!
I used vintage vibe’s six zone but extended it to actually seven zone by using wooden core tips for the highest register.
