So many great ideas.. Your daughters room reminded me of when i did my daughters over 20 yrs ago she requested everything in pink, curtains, pillows , desk skirt, 1 yr later it had to be changed to all yellow.. loved all those late night sewing days, My first project is going to be making lace IKEA curtains longer by adding a piece on the bottom, Love your inspiration thank you :-)

My grandmother make all her aprons. She would use her old house dresses for the material. That’s how I learned to make aprons.

I just want to tell you what an inspiration you are Lisa. I just got a new sewing machine and I would be completely lost without your guidance. Thank you so much for taking the time to help others with your wisdom and talents. You're an angel! ♥

When sewing in the gathering stitches for ruffles, if you sew two lines of stitching about 1/8 inch apart, if one breaks, you have the second one. It's also easier to get the gathers even. Cotton flannel makes great receiving blankets. It comes in pastel colors or white is always welcome. If you crochet, you can put a fancy edging around the blanket,

When adding a ruffle to another piece of fabric, divide the edge of the plain piece of fabric into fourths (just mark it with a straight pin) and do the same with the ruffle (plain edge before gathering). Makes it a lot easier to distribute the gathers evenly. Mark a long edge, like on a blanket or curtains, in more divisions.
