  • In 2003, Aaron Boone became a Yankee legend despite never playing a full season with the team. His walk-off home run in game 7 of the ALCS sent the Yankees to the World Series and the Red Sox home. But sometimes, it takes a lot of little things to make something big happen. So, lets take a look at the little things that made this moment possible.

What was really heartbreaking about this year was that the Chicago Cubs were also making a hard drive towards their first World Series appearance in a while, but would wind up losing the NLCS. We could have had a Red Sox-Cubs series in 2003 with both teams getting a chance to break their respective curses. It could have been one of the greatest World Series of all time.

Even though it's been 20 years and we've got more than a few World Series under our belts now, as a Red Sox fan this moment still hurts. This was the first one of their heartbreaking moments that I was alive to see.
    Freaking Grady Little.

One of the best games ever considering the people involved and the storylines.

I really want to see them do the save the pacers telethon in 1977. I realize it probably isn't that big of a deal to most sports fans and I'm biased because I am a pacers fan myself, but I think it's an incredible moment in sports history that not a lot of people are actually aware of unless they grew up in Indianapolis, or is a hard core pacers fan.

Ok. That’s great. Now can you do Dave Robert’s steal? Then we’ll call it even.
