H8. Trampoline Physics

We find a formula for the amount x that a trampoline is depressed when a person with mass m drops from a height h above the trampoline and the spring constant for the trampoline is k. We assume an ideal trampoline that obeys Hooke's Law. The analysis requires a solution to a quadratic equation. An elegant general formula is obtained.
