It's the year 2000. Trampolining makes its Olympic debut at the Sydney Games. We throw it back!
George Nissen invented the trampoline in the 1930s, inspired by Trapeze artists from the circus and diving athletes. He trademarked the Spanish word "trampolin", which means diving board, and formed a company to sell the gear.
At Sydney 2000, the Fédération Internationale de Trampoline (FIT) managed to get the sport into the Olympic program, making its debut as another Gymnastic sport.

I competed in Tumbling at the 98 worlds in Australia. We all went to watch prelims because it was the qualifying meet to see who would compete in trampoline for the first time. Cool to know I witnessed history.
