This video was abit long so if your reading this just connect cable go to settings on ps5 *make sure they are both connected to the same wifi* then once on settings go to system then data transfer and click continue and the rest is history (use common sense)

A year late but i just fid a 300gb transfer in 40 mins instead of 99+ hours
@@hitchy0755 Mine was 99+ for 450 so i plugged in the lan cable but nothing changed so i had to stop it and restart with the lan cable plugged in and boom down to an hour and change.

It's worth it to note that you DO NOT need 2 tvs to do this. Just switch between the 2 hdmi connections on your TV.
Does signing into the ps5 ask you for verification?
@@guildarts381 if I remember correctly, there was a step for two Factor authentication, but I believe it was optional

If you guys are doing exactly what he does, there shouldn’t be an issue. Buy the latest Ethernet cable CAT5 and up works fine.
Both PS4 and PS5 are connected “together” with the Ethernet cable, connect both consoles to the same Wifi, start system data transfer, follow the prompts.
You must be logged into the Same PSN on both consoles.
You must update firmware’s on both.
You must not turn off the power to both consoles (no sleep/Energy mode allowed)

I’m not sure if this will work for me or not. My husband and I have separate psn accounts. The ps4 NEVER lets me login with mine. Always gives me the new account screen. Even after he logged out AND deactivated the ps4 as his primary console. So I have game saves I’d really love to transfer over to ps5 but I’m getting thwarted every way I try. I tried a USB but ps4 wants me to login for that too.
It’s like you can’t transfer anything if your not logged into PSN but ps4 doesn’t allow multiple accounts.

Does not work. After the PS5 recognizes the PS4 and I continue there is no list of games to transfer. It only shows two options Data Transfer ot games and apps both of those are all or nothing? I cannot just transfer just one game etc?
Why the Ps5 not fully transfer the data in games? I transferred 2k23 Golf and my current golfer on PS4 was not transferred . It took me to a new golfer without my name. I am not overly impressed with the PS5. I really don't notice much difference in graphics.

It never ended up recognizing it. I had to redo it over wifi. I know the cord works though bc I use it with my pc. The transfer process was difficult for me lol

So... what happens if you have BOTH consoles connected to your internet hub through ethernet cable?!? Everyone talks about wifi... but I plan to have both consoles wired to the same internet hub... will this work the same as being direct connected?!? I mean, both consoles will be connected to the same Playstation account except they are both using wired internet vs wifi... so it should technically be the same as connecting them both together, right?!?

If you are NORMAL human being with terrible Internet, then do not prioritise your WiFi over your LAN. It just makes you go through the whole process only for it not to complete the transfer. DO NOT USE WiFi unless you live in Silicon Valley.

Stop using on ps4. Unplug it from ps4. Plug into ps5. Tell ps5 to use it.

Yes, transferring your data from your old PS4 to a PS5 is a helluva lot faster using a LAN/Ethernet cable rather than doing it via Wi-Fi

@@owensarah7460 yo, I didn’t plug it in and I think it’s for the best not to, I ran the transfer overnight (so I left on both consoles) and it’s all good now; so personally I wouldn’t take the risk
FOR PEOPLE OF THE FUTURE : I also had this thought and went the other (more daring) route. I plugged the lan cable into my ps4 and connected it to my ps5 and the ps5 recognized the lan cable and the download speeds are definitely going faster now
Totally safe to plug in during transfer. Ps5 recognizes connection in 30 seconds or less. If not just use pause all option and resume again.

Why do you have the ethernet cable plugged in to the ps5 and nothing on the other end? Surely the way you are doing it is "wireless" I would think to do it via the cable you'd have to ug the other end in the ps4
