    Halo and fallout tv shows proved one thing. And it’s that having the team who created the games on board is a must.

    Adaptations only work when they respect the source material. They don’t have to be a completely accurate but they do have to be respectful.

    I think one of the major differences with something like Fallout is that they are not so much adapting the games, as setting something in that world. It is a wholly different beast to TLOU or the Mario film even. You could totally do a Fallout movie, in the same way that Andor doesn't mean Star Wars works better in tv than film just because it turned out great. Hell even then we have not really gotten many or any video game adaptation shows that are episodic, they have all sorta been prestige streaming fare.
    edit: I am dumb of course the Witcher fits that

    I loved ff7 and the remake but 10 years for a trilogy of a single numbered game is a bit too much. Growth isn’t infinite and corporations need to realize that.

      I just read in a translation from the devs that they were able to make Rebirth in 3 years, since after Remake they did Intergrade and then started full production after that. So it looks like they will be able to get part 3 out in about 3 years, which is crazy. They say they are able to do this because they retain all the devs instead of firing and rehiring like so many other AAA studios. So hopefully we get part 3 in about 3-4 years, which is insane to me. Rebirth was huge, so I have faith that they can do it again.

      Were you lost on what was happening in the story? I believe everyone should play the original FF7 before diving into the remake, so the fact that you were able to play Rebirth with no knowledge of any of the previous games surprises me. I believe you, I’m just curious on how much of it was just baffling to you. Even I was a little confused by the ending.

    I think tv show adaptations of games are part of a larger apparatus that alotta gamers don’t realize: promotion and merchandise.
    A Fallout tv show makes sense in preparation for a potential new game! There should also be a God of War show in production as rumors spread about a new God of War game and possible Trilogy Remake.
    It’s actually notta new thing to make tv adaptations to sell more games! The Pokemon anime no doubt drove up game sales in Japan and America when it first aired!

      But we’re 10 years away from getting a new Fallout game, even though I know they’re pushing people to play Fallout 4 with the next gen update, and Fallout 76. Bethesda could and should hand the franchise off to another developer like they did with New Vegas, especially since they’re owned by Microsoft now and own so many different dev teams.

    I just finished FF7 Rebirth and waiting for Stellar Blade to come out, so I’m in that weird between stage where I don’t know what to play. I have the post game depression, where after finishing a really big game like Rebirth, I feel lost, and a little sad. Anyone else ever feel like that, or am I just weird?

    I liked the series so much that it got me to reinstall Fallout 4 on Steam, alongside a truckload of mods. Then, I realized that Bethesda might destroy those mods when they add in the update next week.

    Watching people react to Fallout on CZcams, its fascinating to see how well the series does with both crowds of people. With fans, we notice every little thing and easter egg and love it. For non-fans (those who haven't played it), they don't need to konw about every little easter egg and refrence to enjoy the show. The show goes great on its own to introduce people to things. And yes, it helps that the Fallout show went in its own direction like the games do.

      Fallout fan since the 2D games here with a wake up call:
      I think the show is a travesty, a joke, an insult to the series.
      It's a post apocalyptic TV show with power armor. The end. It's nothing like the franchise and it's just lazy writers cashing in on the fact that video games make more money than movies now
      The show sucks. So put that in your thesis.
      F*cking terrible show, bad idea. Does not respect the source material.
      Makes the games lore into a crappy Hollywood drama with a bunch of nobodies.

      Dunce. You. Dunce. All the people watching it. Dunces.
      You probably enjoyed the Castlevania anime and the Godzilla anime as well.
      That's an insult by the way.

    PS5 Pro may help with PSVR2 games, which i love and play like 95% of the time. But my current PS5 plays fine, and I'm not ready to jump into Pro even if PSVR2 works better. If My PS5 blows up, I'd get a pro as a replacement, but not just to get and upgrade.

    Imagine being a 3rd party developer having to make 6 different versions of a game for all of the consoles and PC ports. They’ll have the new Nintendo Switch, Series S and X, PC, Steam Deck, PS5 and PS5 Pro. Games are already releasing buggy and unfinished and you’re going to stretch devs even thinner than they already are. Good luck with that.
    Also, in my opinion I think games should target 1440p 60fps. 4K is so taxing, and most people use 1440p monitors and TV’s or can’t really tell the difference in resolution. We went from 1080p to 4K, skipping the resolution people want most.

    It's annoying how some people misuse the term Boomer, do they think someone who's in their 40's is a Boomer. You're most likely going to be a millennial if you grew up playing the OG Final Fantasy VII.

    IMO Ben FO4 is the weakest Fallout game yet, as the story (for me) is boring and the simpler skill trees really rob the game of any true FO flavor. Do yourself a favor and play FO: NV, FO3 or heck, even FO2 or FO Tactics instead.

    • @ThatShyGuyMatt
      @ThatShyGuyMatt Před měsícem +1

      I do enjoy F4s side quests, DLC and base building (as useless as it is at times). However yeah, the main story is snore worthy and the skills are kind bland. NV is the first Fallout game I tell people to play.

    • @BilCaesar

      I’d argue that Fallout 3: GOTY is the only good Bethesda RPG but it was my first BRPG and the only one I’ve finished.
      I have a theory that ppls first BRPG is usually their favourite as the formula is just rinsed and repeated but in a different setting.
      The fact that the ‘quality’ of their games hasn’t improved in 2 decades just shows how little they even try to push boundaries or even polish their 20th port of Skyrim.
      Let’s face it, modders are the ones that make Bethesda games ‘good’.
      But maybe that’s just me. 🤷‍♂️

    • @ThatShyGuyMatt
      @ThatShyGuyMatt Před měsícem +2

      @@BilCaesar Well your not wrong about the first part. Many game series repate the same forumla for future games. Far Cry, Assassins Creed....etc all do it.
      F3 was also my first introduction to the series. It does have a special place in my heart because I played it so much.

    • @BilCaesar
      @BilCaesar Před měsícem

      @@ThatShyGuyMatt yeah and it’s why I don’t bother with Ubisoft games anymore.
      I just find that games that are about ‘making your own adventure’ just kinda bore me. I shouldn’t have to find ways to make a game fun just cos they couldn’t be assed to do a compelling story.
      With F3 I read everything I found in that game & soaked up everything I could… I dread to think how many hours I spent in that game. By the time I got to F4 & NV & even Skyrim the novelty had worn off as there’s nothing there to motivate me.
      Bethesda games are kinda like Minecraft to me where it’s down to you to create the adventure & character etc.
      I’m just one of those gamers that need a story or at least a decent character to drive me forward…. Bethesda lack on both those fronts imo.
      Sure the worlds are big & full of lore but that only matters if ppl can be assed to look for it…. And I just can’t. 🤷‍♂️
