Rule of thumb on your receiver for winter charge should be 3/4th full. That’s a good and easy way to check your levels on the receiver. Your also correct about Freon doesn’t just go away.
I once used a can of "Fix Flat" and found I was filling tire every two weeks instead of every day. That way you can scoot the tire shops to catch them when they are not busy. You can't put it off for too long, or your tire runs out of "Fix Flat" wonder goo.
Real problem was at night when outdoor temperature dropped, head master held back starving liquid line. By the time we get there the day warms up changing operating conditions. Two of those fans need to cycle off for better performance, discharge pressure fan cycling is better than O.A. temp. thermostats.
I carry a plug kit for me but yeah, fleet vehicles have to be done by a shop. Whataburger sounds good though. Going to get some fuel today and get out of the house so who knows maybe that is where I will go. You and my wife would have got along good though, she would put jelly on the oddest stuff. But she was from Jamaica and when I was there things had a really different flavor. Their ketchup has a lot of sugar added and tastes more like jelly. And the hot dogs taste like they have never been cooked...
@@rookierefrigeration4357 Yeah, surprised they replaced the tire for a nail. But didn't pay a lot of attention to the tread. And I think I will, today is a crappy day for me. Lost my wife one year ago today. Some comfort food would be good.
Hey if you go 3/4 way on reciever you arexstill safe correct? Also newbie here. When charging in winter what is best practice for adding winter charge. ? Block off condenser till the the hpnis abouve set point of head Master then fill sight gkass then extra wi ter charge? Always get confused. Fir me in sumner i add till i fill sight glass then use sporlan 90-30-1 manual to figure how much i need fir flooded condenser. Also one last question. Winter chatge on micro Chanel ?
Does the winter charge for freezers cause high side problem during warmer or hotter days later ? If head Master is bypassing when its properly charged and has liquid seal would the sight glass flash when its bypassing?
You heat up the receiver. The line where you feel the difference is the liquid level. The vapor above the liquid will absorb sensible heat so that’s where you feel the temp difference. Liquid won’t gain it.
XRAY Bravo liquid seal is a term for the amount of refrigerant needed inside the receiver to successfully feed liquid refrigerant into the liquid line. If you are not at that point or higher, you will feed flash gas (vapor). It means you’re low
Why wasnt the headmaster still opening and closing if the new psi was at 179? It didnt go up to 180 at all? And why did head psi fluctuate so much even if its under charged? Never seen that before
We were really low on gas. The liquid seal inside the receiver was being forced out every time the headmaster bypassed. Only thing I can think of. Once I added enough refrigerant, the liquid seal is now good to go and so the pressure can be below 180, the headmaster will still bypass but now you will have steady flow. 💪🏼
@@rookierefrigeration4357 if headmaster is bypassing during low ambient should sight glass flash ? Cause after you charged it it was no longer flashing.
@@xraybravo7180 should not flash. If you have enough refrigerant in the receiver. If you don’t have enough refrigerant it will flash and if you are extremely low on charge, the liquid line will be hot as discharge line.

Agustin Cesar lol. This is funny actually. That TPI temp reader sat on the shelf at Barsco for 11 years. Lol. Probably same batteries as it’s never been used. I bought it for the greenhorn that’s in the video with me. Probably batteries died. Batteries from 2009😂😂😂
@@rookierefrigeration4357 You know, is amazing the tech level in the U.S., most of the people I've seen locally use manual gauges, you are all on digital stuff that I haven't even seen in my life. When you poured the jelly on the biscuit sandwich heard Borat say "Very nice how much?"

Yes sir. I agree. I just have no idea who bypassed them. Or removed the PC. Etc. we will see if there wasn’t us to check it out. 🤷♂️
Any idea on how to check charge while its bypassing ?
-that headmaster...
(grape jelly? )
- so, i'm gonna brazzing...
(seriously? Grape jelly on that? )
-that fluctuating pressure...
( tomato sauce maybe, but jelly?)
Lmao. 🤷🏼♂️

No sir. Unless you overcharged the heel out of it.

Great info - thanks
Thanks bro
Some technical miss diagnos it as bad compressor. Always add some gas to identify the real problem.

whataburger next to firestone. Looks like watauga location. Didnt know you were from around there. I’m 5 min from there myself.

You do not need fan Cycling on that system because of the head master control .
Peter Stencell yah, but it would help if we maintained proper head pressure when they don’t need to bypass.

when doing the torch test does the unit have to be pumped down or can you do it while running normal?

I think fan control and head master don’t work together . Only you can choose one .
