    freaking amazing, I was just planning on doing a timing chain replacement with my dad on my genesis coupe in the next few months, your videos are such a godsend. I think I might give my valve cover a nice metallic red paint while its off too, get rid of that bland black plastic look!

    Is it normal that after doing a couple rotations by hand that the 3 gold links don’t line up with the dots on each gear anymore? Just did my girlfriends car haven’t ran it yet but the 3 lines are lined up but after a few rotations the gold links didn’t line up on the dots anymore

    I'm just doing the timing cover does the valve cover need to come off? Also do you have a video replacing the water pump? I'm pretty sure its straight forward but I wanted to know if I have to flush the system after installing a new water pump since air may get into the system.

    • @ProdigePerformance
      @ProdigePerformance  Před 2 lety

      You always vent the cooling system when replacing a part like that. Very easy to do
      And yes the valve cover has to come off

    @anthonysales6235 Před 6 měsíci

    can you make a video of replacing the cvvt sprockets?

    • @ProdigePerformance
      @ProdigePerformance  Před 6 měsíci

      It’s literally the same as this video. Your sprockets are held in by a 14mm bolt
      You simple just hold the cams in place with an adjustable wrench (which I’ve done in this video) and impact the 14mm bolt off (in the middle of the sprocket) and that’s it.
      Install new sprocket and tq to 39-43ft lbs

    • @ProdigePerformance
      @ProdigePerformance  Před 6 měsíci

      Also, the sprocket have dial pins so they only go in one way. Meaning it’s impossible to mess up install hahah

    I'm about to do this tomorrow but I had a quick question. When you're talking about rotating the crank to get cylinder one a little below top dead center, does it matter which way you turn the crankshaft? like, facing the engine as you are in the video, is it Counter-Clockwise or Clockwise or does it not matter? And also, how much below top dead center do I need to go?
