Love the video and the edits, brother. I actually didn't know about a lot of that. Respectfully, I will say, you listed all the reasons the Air Force is Easy, not why it's the Best. 🤭 All love from the Marine Corps. 😁
The US Air Force, when you want to be in the military but never ever have to worry about any of that actual war stuff.
Do you get to pick your job at meps and guarantee it in my contract or is that something only the Navy does?
Also, the Navy doesn't have infantry either (they're called Marines) and spec ops like SEALs and SWCC are special try out only. Neither does the Coast Guard, or Space Force.

had me at "shortest time in the dorms" (barracks) I still have a hard time getting over that.
@@golfery5119they fact they can even call them dorms says everything you need to know about the quality
@@ugs192 When I was joining Army, I really didn't think about and honestly at the time probably wouldn't have cared about it. It didn't dawn on me that Army barracks can be crappier. And i didn't realize that some Army barracks, especially more with infantry (like marines) have it where you have soldiers sharing the same barracks room. And some Army barracks have communal bathrooms at the end of the hallway where everybody has to share, including shower. I've been told that some soldiers because of this and how the Army does PT, don't even get the time to shower and have to be funky all day long.
But what REALLY got my attention, TOO LATE, about the Air Force, was my horror when I found out that in Army, if you don't get married, *in SOME instances you might be allowed to move out the barracks at the rank of E5 (which not everyone will get to), but you really aren't guaranteed to be allowed to move out until rank of E6 (and I've been told some soldiers having to remain in the barracks FOR TEN YEARS because it took them that long to make E6!) And I think there are even some places where unmarried soldiers aren't allowed to move out until even E7!*
In contrast the Air Force in some cases would let unmarried E3's move out the barracks, while guaranteeing across the board that you'll get to move out by the rank of E4 (with three years time in service) at the latest!*
You have people like myself who didn't have this information presented to them in detail like this, and that's understandable..... but what's headscratching is that there are people now who SEE videos like this and KNOW this information beforehand.... but they STILL go "the Air Force is for pussies. I want to join the Army/Marines anyway" which in my opinion is just plain stupid especially when they bitch and complain about having to live in the barracks (and not only deal with how shitty Army barracks can be, but also deal with lack of privacy, constant surprise visits from leadership, etc)!!!

Not to mention, the Air Force has some kick ass Dining Facilities. You only pay for what you put on your plate. The tables are covered with tablecloths. Someone walks around refilling drinks. And someone will clear the table when you finish eating.
When you join the Army and step on to an Air Force Base for the first time, it makes you reevaluate your life choices.
Seriously! I went to the AF Academy after being stationed at Fort Carson and was like😳 "What have I done!!" Lol but I was Aviation so it was still cake.
And when you're in the AirForce and go to an Army base, it's worse than an AirForce deployment location.

@blacksnow5069 when we were in Iraq in 07, we had gotten there for a 15-month deployment. Well the AF guys found out they got extended for 1 month for a total of a 6 month deployment. One of their junior enlisted threw a fit and almost started crying. He did it in front of us and his NCO grabbed him and proceeded to chew his ass for it knowing we would be there for 15 months. This is all right, but people ONLY look at this and think this is what the military is like. They don’t show the gritty side. Working long hours, pulling 12s then weekend duty too. Yes this all is cool, but should not be the reason why you join. You should join to fight for your country, because there could be a day where you never come back home. And your killed. No one thinks about this. And that’s why everyone fucking hates us because the Air Force attracts the weakest people. “It’s the easiest so I’ll do it” that mentality fucks the Air Force. I was a crew chief on the stealth fighter. In the beginning of the korsovo conflict. For two weeks we stayed at a hotel by the beach in Italy and we were taken by tour bus to Aviano Airbase daily. While the Marines stayed in tents on the base.
They complained, and we had to move into tent city.

Good video. Honestly, I just retired from the Army and I loved how the Air Force took care of their bases and people. I always stayed at an air base when vacationing. I would have joined AF if I had more knowledge 20 years ago.
Thanks for your service. It's hard retiring from any branch of the military and I think it has to be harder doing it in army/marines because of the extra physical and emotional abuse.
But you won't be the first or the last to say "if I could do it over again, I'd have done Air Force (or Coast Guard or Space Force or maybe Navy)" Thing is that there are so many people today who KNOW how much worse the Army and Marines overwhelmingly are, yet they insist on doing Army/Marines anyway then bitch "I should have fucking listened" later.

Had a Marine friend tell me a story. His Marine base had some joint operation with some Air Force personnel. They were going to have an Air Force airman (E1 I think) living in their barracks. They knew he was going to be soft so they let him use an officer's room. He took one look and reported to his supervisors that the room was not fit for Air Force personnel. He later got a room off base.
uh I don't think so.
I don't doubt that story. I remember an incident back in 2001 where low rank enlisted Airmen were supposed to stay at a barracks on MCAS New River but it was deemed unsat for them to do so. At NAS Pensacola in 1999, too. Those airmen were given a special pay for not being given their own personal rooms.

Respect. And yea, I guess the closest career we have to infantry is security forces.
@@Jodywithawhy guardians of the gate are not infantrymen. It’s closer to an MP than a soldier
@@TheTexanInfidel it’s more of a combination of both
@@Aaron-wq3jz no it’s not I am actual 11B in the army and the airforce has no equivalent. I’ve deployed with all branches and have see what they do and what they do not.
Because you didn’t deploy with aircraft to places like Iraq and Afghanistan. After the Vietnam war, the USAF had to protect its airbases and aircraft. A memorandum signed between the USAF and the Army and Navy, made that change occur. As a former SP, I went through the US Army infantry training, light and heavy weapons and played war games galore in Fort Irwin, CA.
I hear it's actually quite hard to even be accepted into the Air Force. Unless you have a high school diploma saying you were top of your class or a college degree they don't want you. I was talking to an Air Force recruiter once just our of curiosity and mentioned my G.E.D and they immediately stopped and said "Have you thought about joining the Army?" Shit hurt lmao
Damn really? Cause I still don’t even got my GED n planning to
@@TimeIsMon3y I don't think any branch will accept anyone without the minimum of a GED.
My ex brother inlaw, joined the Air Force, right out of high school. Didn't have the highest grades, but the Vo-Tech classes doing electrical work came in handy. Served 10 years. Was trained on all types of aircraft electrical systems, went to school to get an Electrical engineering degree. When he got out, Boeing picked him up as an electrical engineer. He does field work for them now.
I tried switching over to the Air Force from the Navy when my first enlistment was over and the recruiter to me they don’t even take their own when they get out, this was back in 1989. I don’t know if they still do this but back then, they were extremely picky with who they enlisted plus the Air Force promotions are the slowest of any of the branches. Back then it was quite common for most Air Force enlisted to retire as an E-5 and Congress was wanting to do away with E-5 retirements because it was costing too much to have that many retire but the Air Force complained enough because it would’ve been detrimental and almost wipe out the Air Force if they done that.
Some time around 2004 they finally pushed it through and E-5 retirements are a thing of the past now for all branches. I guess the Air Force started promoting more to E-6 just to avoid a hollow force like the Navy had in the ‘70s when junior enlisted were leaving the Navy in droves.
I got a traffic ticket and it almost kept me out.
Y’all just sold me I’m coming to the Air Force
Got 3 degrees and 10 certs through the Army. Now all I need is cyber experience but they’re playing
I know the Airforce got that. WASSUP Jody?
As a Marine in the early '90's, my company flew up to McChord AFB in Washington for an exercise. We slept in an airplane hanger and in the morning, we marched to the chow hall for breakfast. We could see the luxurious barracks as we marched past but what blew my mind was in the chow hall when I asked for an omelet. The cook asked "What kind?" I was amazed. In my home chow hall in Camp Pendleton, we got a mystery omelet served to us. I felt like I was in Denny's when I got to choose what I wanted on it at this Air Force base!
I was in a PRIME BEEF unit in USAF and when we deployed to Diyarbakir the poor army guys were amazed how we set up our base then about month later a PRIME RIBS came to feed us and other stuff but even deployed they made our food how we wanted. All the other services were amazed they called it Dennys in the desert. 😂
Before I went to Basic in 1980, I'd never had an omelet in my life. I learned how to make omelets watching the cooks while standing in line in USAF Basic training.
Navy chow was also pretty damn good and it wasn’t unusual to get some fairly elaborate dinners while out to sea, especially if it was a holiday or on your birthday. Surf and turf was the B-Day norm! The Mess Specialists on a carrier enjoyed baking on their little downtime and would use cookies to bribe us other divisions when they needed a favor! Good times!
Youre like the 10th dude whose told me that haha
I remember being a young infantry grunt getting laid over (and over 😜) at Al Assad for a few days while going home on R&R. My buddy and I walked into a Chairforce DFAC and it was immediate culture shock. No shit, linen napkins, spoons and forks in the proper places, clean uniforms. There we are wrinked uniforms, stained in greese and blood, boots all beat to shit, grimy verge of dreadlock hair. "Dude, did we walk into the officer's mess?" We get our meal, steak, (and it wasnt followed by a BOHICA) and it was the finest meal I have ever eaten in the military. Then I hear this table next to us, airmen talking about what theyre goibg to do that evening. Little MF'rs talking about going to the pool...Im like "hey, tell me more about this...pool." They told us about an Olympic size swimming pool a short walk from the PX. I really didnt believe them, thought they were sending me on a blinker fluid hunt. So I say, "Seriously? Im going to go look for this pool, and if I dont find it, Im going to come find you." (Yeah, I was a little high strung at that point in the deployment.) Kid looked at me like I was a gorilla at the zoo and the glass partition fell out and said, "Yeah it's there. Ill take you guys to it." Sure as shit, they had a freaking pool. Boy did I back the wrong pony. Still got laid and a CIB though...Airborne!

Air Force is the way to go but you have to be smart. It ain’t for dum dums. My brother did eight, got his engineering degree and works for an aerospace firm. I’ve worked for the Army 13 years.
They also have the best food, nicest bases, and the prettiest women. All comfirmed!
I've been around air force and they definitely seem to have more cute and pretty and fine women. Not to say that there are no decent looking army women, but army has just as many butch lesbians.
Pretty women aren't in the habit of wanting to put in a lot of effort so the Air Force is going to of course be far more appealing to them than carrier ops for the Navy.
@@Krystalmyth not a bad thing

Been there, done that. Even when deployed, I had my own room. While Army had open bay hootches and the Marines had tents (lovingly built by the Air Force civil engineers), we Air Force had our own ‘Hootchville’ complete with gravity shower, kitchen, day room and we put walls up in the hootches so we all had individual rooms. We also mounted our beds to the frame to allow for additional storage underneath. All that just for the Fire Department. Oh, we also built a patio around the entire ‘villa the same height as the steps which allowed us to walk from our rooms to the kitchen and day room without having to walk in the mud when it rained.
Man...look I'm proud of being a Marine that has overserved his time, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can about this other branch to give the best info for my little brother so he doesn't go through the suck like me.
You think he will actually listen to you though?
@golfery5119 Well he thinks his only other option is Volleyball for college, then ??? after college. I'm thinking the GI bill works for all branches after so he might as well have a good time and learn some adult skills in the AF. Once high-school schools seem to be close to over, then maybe he might consider his options. I just got to make sure he's not tricked into Army/Marines/Coast Gaurd. Best option has got to be AF, worst case Navy, because of the Filipino Mafia there.
