My son is doing so well being in the Air Force. He knows how to save. He paid off his car only a Honda Civic when he returned from overseas and then still has lots of money saved. He is frugal and only buys what he needs but when he wants to do something nice he has the money for it. I'm so proud of my boy. 🥰

LOL! Same with me, I went to Vegas with some friends and had about $500. When I left I decided to really buckle down on my finances. Sold my car so I didn’t have a car payment and paid off the rest of my car note AND all my consumer debt. (About 8k in total debt) Bought a cash car with the leftover money and started putting A LOT of money I earn into savings. Just enlisted in the Navy, I have a plan I’m going to follow so I don’t blow all my money and I’ll have some savings when I get out. I leave to boot camp on April 1st.
I’m starting off as an E3 and Uncle Sam is going to pay off my student loans. About to turn 24 and decided it’s really time to buckle down and grow up.

So my questions is should i put the car in a storage and pay the monthly payment of $417 and the storage fee or is it possible to ship it to my base after i have started my main job in the airforce. I would recommend keeping the car if you’re upside down on payments. Either store it at a garage, or keep it at a loved one’s home. Then after basic training get your shipped to you or have someone drive it to your tech school location. As far as your pay, you’ll have to cover the storage, unless you have an abnormal car payment of course.

It wasn’t for me. It’s an analytical job, and I’m more of a people person. So I just didn’t fit in. It’s a cool job, but I think it’s better suited for someone who likes working with computers and sitting at a desk.

there is no consumer vs producer, that's an over simplificaiton, consumption and production are very complex phenonmen, and there is also comparative advantage,
now, we have necessity and we have ;luxury and many revolve around necessity and paycheck situation only catches up with inflation

    • @Jodywithawhy

I beg to differ. This whole infrastructure was designed by producers who advertise products to consumers. You’re either paying for someone else’s business to be successful, creating your own or managing your income right to escape the system at hand. Because we live in a capitalist country, those are the options we’re faced with.

Most people do spend too much according to what they make. That being said there is a pay problem. Wages have not kept up with inflation and the middle class is being destroyed. 50 years ago joining the military was useful only for the benefits. Many still ended up homeless; enough to where a homeless veteran became a trope. Everything has gotten worse since then.
Im all for dealing with the situation at hand but it’s dishonest to say there isn’t a pay problem. Especially when the pay problem exists because theres an island somewhere. An island funded by lies about Vietnam, Iraq and Ukraine.
All that in mind great production quality and you have a lot of good information. Im sure you know all of what I said anyway but you have to keep your channel approved.

Thank you. I honestly believe the military pays its people fairly. It could be a disconnect or blind spot, but I think realistically military members are paid well enough to not deal with real struggle.
Could they be paid more? Definitely and so can any other company, but keep in mind the enlisted members mostly come in with no skill and education, yet they start out living a life above the median household income. I try to be fair when creating content, but I do appreciate your perspective as well.

Air Force has a $65K college loan reimbursement for enlisted members on federal loans. They also have a loan deferment program which you can defer your loans while serving.

My insurance is $48/mo and my phone is like $60/mo internet is $50/mo. I only buy clothes during Black Friday or a sale with outfit planned ahead and off season clothes. Gas from nearly 0 to full at Costco gas is $60> every 9-10 days. I buy movie tickets through AAA. All of my long term debt has low interest. Not a fan of Dave Ramsay because of how ignorant he is about life insurance but it’s good to avoid debt especially if the debt isn’t used to make more money
