And this is just one (of many) reasons I couldn't stand this skating product. "Drama"--CONSTANT drama (real or imagined). I don't know why they did this. There were simply too many great skaters to let this nonsense conquer the game.
The fact is, Griffiths believed that if the sport was skated legit or without heat it would be boring. When Jerry Hill ran the East Coast, he let the skaters skate and took care of the business. The skaters knew when to throw in some heat if the crowd became too quiet or looked bored. Otherwise, while Jerry Hill ran the games, the Warriors skated a game that was much more Derby style. Once the big Chicago interleague game happened and Jerry Hill got NO credit for all the work he did, he left. Then the Warriors game had more storylines and much more of the drama that you disliked.
Judy Arnold Caption of the Philadelphia Warriors with Buddy Atkinson Coach, Judy Sowinski Captin of the New York Bombers with Coach Ronnie Raines , Diane Syverson Captain of the Detroit Devils and Coach Leroy Gonzoles, Sally Vega?????? I know she skated with the Warriors, the Southern Stars of Roller Derby with Ann Cavello as Captain, I don't get Sally Vega as a good Captain sorry no way. Arnold and Sowinski were the best!
