    To the woman talking about generational trauma I'd like to say that is crap. My ancestors lived in poverty on a Scottish island in the late 1600s. They left that island as a family and walked 350 miles doing casual work for food and shelter as they travelled. They suffered Scottish highland winters with nothing to their names. They were run off land and out of villages when they were in great need. When they finally found somewhere they could get more permanent work they settled but had to withstand derision from the people who lived there because of where they were from and their poverty. Their determination and suffering were more than their modern descendants would be able to withstand. But the trauma was theirs, not mine. I suffer no trauma because I am not them. But I do have generational admiration and respect for them.

Despite having been addicted, forced into rehab, and attempting self-ending before reaching her 16th birthday, she survived and thrived. This is a woman whose heart is so pure that, while renovating an apartment, shed tears of joy upon discovering a window the previous owners had covered over. Living in a locality where it hasn't rained in months, you had best believe we also went outside to rejoice when it finally began to fall. Drew Barrymore is still a seriously damaged individual. Many actors are. Indeed, it may be a defining characteristic to enter the 'pretending and deception' profession that is acting. Have you met any actors? Have you observed how they are in interviews? Just being famous makes no end of famous people go off the rails but actors also spend their time bending their minds around different personalities so they can pretend to be someone else while being famous! Believe me (and I've met a lot of them), it affects them; and Drew suffered a lot more than many because she was a child star (Hollywood is well known for chewing up and spitting out children).

    The scariest part about this type of mindset is that I’ve seen why people go down this road.
    Some people can’t even fathom why someone would even think like this, but I’ve seen why.
    I have found myself getting bitter from ACTUAL racist experiences. It’s hard not to project that hatred onto anyone who looks like your perpetrator, especially if it’s been a severe trauma.
    It starts with a little bit of hurt, and you let it fester. You say things under your breath, and then to your friends who won’t challenge you or hold you accountable, and then slowly but surely your’ve turned into this racist person. You’re hateful. Everyone looks like your attacker, because you never dealt with the wound. You never forgave
    The very thing you stood against is what you’ve then become.
    In the grand scheme of things I would not want to stay like these people. That level of bitterness will kill you real slow.

      Is it additive or is lesser trauma overwritten/ignored--does having generational trauma unlock the potential to add more trauma to the generational trauma's imprint? How much trauma can be passed? How much trauma is too much? Does it skip a generation like lycanthropy? Can it be bottled after a good sweat? Is it a "darker berry...sweeter juice" concentration, or is it singularly potent regardless of "dilution," for lack of a better word? Has anyone tracked down patient zero; who was able to hold onto and pass forward the trauma? Is it based on heritage? Are some families more traumatized than others and why? How can we be rid of it, or are we doomed for all humanity to have some ethnicity suffering this DNA encoded affliction? What experiences encode the generational trauma--is the Cold war enough mental anguish, for example, or, must there be physically induced PTSD? Are other ethnicities eligible for this type of trauma? If so, what is their source (if it is been documented)? If it hasn't been documented, why not? Wouldn't it be a break through to learn whether or not one ethnicity is subject to this sort of thing and what causes it for each? Is there a pill, meditation or other method that should be disseminated as a means to reduce/counter such an obviously debilitating condition? Why is this not more readily known or wide spread of it is the cause of an entire people's shortcomings? How much suffering (time versus amount, type) does it take to imprint generational trauma?

They also see depression as being ungrateful. The only people I could take to about this was my aunt (who in her mid 40's realized something wasn't right and sought therapy for depression that was dismissed by our entire family) and my younger sister (who always saw me spiral when I'd constantly ask for help; therapy and then be accused of seeking attention by my parents and our extended family that I just stopped expressing my emotions around them unless it was apathy) I've taken great strides.... *recently* at 25 to cope better with my depression but for 12 long years I was made to think any discomfort I felt was unimportant and disrespectful. if I wasn't feeling "Happy" then I was being ungrateful. When I talk about my childhood to friends, they always remark that what I experienced was abuse and I just stare at them with a blank face and always respond robotically "Oh, was it? It felt normal to me... Sorry, if I'm bumming you out. That wasn't my intention, I thought the story was funny but I can see how that would worry you...."
      *Now* I look back on what happened and think.... What would have happened if I never questioned the feelings I experienced in my childhood, the events that took place. Would I have just continued on with my life, spreading the same trauma my parents did because I thought everything that happened to me was normal? Would I traumatize my own kids? How much longer would the cycle continue before someone had the courage to give what happened a voice?

      You still work. It's alright telling yourself that you're a survivor not a victim but this narrative that you're putting out into the public is that molesting and beating children isn't bad and doesn't harm them but just gives them something to be thankful for in later life, and which will give them a backbone of steel. It's akin to the idiocy in that film 300, which sells the idea that literally throwing your children to the wolves is the best way to raise them because those that survive will be hard as nails - *those that survive*.
      You seriously need to learn the difference between what is good to tell yourself and what is not good to disseminate to the wider world.
      Lastly, that addition, right at the end, of "and more beautiful" makes you sound like you're reading off a script written by a jaded Disney writer. Indeed, it inclines me to think that writing how much you suffered and rose above it all to 'shine your beauty down on the world' has become your thing. If so, you need to stop because it just comes off as phoney because 'talk is cheap'. Real inspirational work comes in the form of autobiographies, autobiographical stage plays, etc.

      You should be ashamed of yourself for posting such a disgusting statement, especially on a platform of a critical thinker like Leon, who is aware enough not to make such bigoted generalisations while intelligently criticising those that deserve the criticism
      1.) There are crazy SJW women of all races like how nonsense and bad behaviour is found in every group of people on earth, yet you decided to act like this behaviour is inherently belonging to Black women, further promoting misogynoir and racist stereotypes of Black women. This is not even representative of Black women in the US , much less Black women all over the world. Yet if such racist generalisations were made to Black men, you would have a problem with that.

      @medusavee8649 Před rokem +3

      2) You and anyone else have the right to date whoever you want. However, trashing and degrading a group of people is not acceptable. Especially seeing that the “crazy behaviour” is a pathetic excuse for enacting a hatred of Black women, given that if you needed such an excuse to go for another demographic of people, then you never really liked them in the first place. And it is disgraceful and self-hating of the Black men that have this mentality.
      3) Lastly such a mentality is not indicative of a quality person that people are looking for in a partner.

      So, I guess her reasoning had something to do with black tiktokers “frolicking” in fields and the rain for views and somehow a white person doing the same thing is removing viewers from the black tiktokers that do that. So, kind of like if you run a bakery and a Dunkin’ Donuts opens up next door. Not that I think her video has any validity whatsoever, that’s just how this lady sees it. The video she’s complaining about is just Drew being Drew, she’s probably only got a couple of videos like that, I don’t see that as being her schtick.
