Sorry but it's plain as day how much DCEU wants to emulate GOTG with SS. Soundtrack, bad guys gone good (somewhat), humor, and the motley crue of miscasts are all ripoff from GOTG. Suicide Squad the comic book may have existed before but it's not til GOTG's proven success that it was put on the fast track. That's why Ayers only had 6 weeks to work on the script.

suicide squad was supposed to be the most popular villain themed movie of all time. It was also supposed to be a financial blockbuster. If the filmmakers would've took their time it wouldn't be so boring. The script was mediocre and the acting was okay but it would be been elevated by way better writing.
The acting was kind of cringy but, it was a fun movie!

It wasn't a great movie. That's all. It has nothing to do with people being comic fans. It's objectively a poorly written movie. That doesn't mean you can't still enjoy it. Even a bad movie can be entertaining. If it was entertaining for you that's OK, but to act like it wasn't a bad movie is disingenuous. There is no opinion here. It is factually a bad movie.

thank you, i've been saying this for over a year it seems. i love the first 4 police academy movies because i grew up with them, doesn't mean i think they're high art or among the best comedies of all time but for some reason as a collective we've forgotten that it's ok to like crap. it's the same "i know better than you" mentality that's lead to flat-earthers and anti-vaxxers

X men 3 is a guilty pleasure for me. I understand why people hate it, and I understand why its bad, but goddamn, if its on TV, I will watch it all over again..
I feel so bad for Jared man, seemed like he was really into the character and he tried to give it his best shot, but everyone just hated his portrayal, I however like it though. Lets hope Batfleck's stand alone film will give Jared the credit he deserves.

I personally, as someone who reviews things professionally, didn't enjoy Suicide Squad. I just felt too much style not enough substance. Now if you enjoy this movie there's nothing wrong with that, seriously I still love the original Triple X (Vin Diesel) film despite critical opinion on it. Love what you love and hate what you hate as long as it isn't hurting somebody in a literal fashion it's completely fine.
BvS and Suicide Squad are almost polar opposites, BvS used visual cues to explain things while Suicide Squad treated the audience like retards and had the characters spurt out exposition (much like a bunch of Marvel films (most of them don't)), BvS used humor sparingly while Suicide Squad spurted out jokes all over (a bunch were good ones though). Basically, BvS is a misunderstood masterpiece (I really liked almost everything about BvS, if it had a bit more of that relatable human element in it, I think it'd be my fav).

I don't get why they hate Leto for playing Joker. He has more than capabilities to be amazing; just the bad directing and odd lines they gave him weren't good to work around. Its not really his fault. Hopefully if he appears on the next Batman movie, they give him a better script - I know Leto has the potential.
On the movie, I have like/dislike thing with it. It's not a good idea to implement too many characters and try to develop ALL of them and still have a coherent plot line. They should've at least done some solo movies first instead of cramming so much in a reasonable movie running time. Especially amazing characters like Harley (who's Mad Love origin story is much stronger than the New 52 imo) and Diablo. It really sucks that they killed Diablo off in SS considering what a great backstory he has. They should've let the most important characters have an actual film and finally bring them together to a great Suicide Squad. Or at LEAST try to use the animated SS as a skeleton and go from there. Oh well...
I did like Suicide Squad, though I did only watch the extended version, and often wonder why people dislike movies, is there some cool edge points that are awarded for people being edgy and disliking everything except movies that could win awards (which I agree Suicide Squad won't) or is it that people fail to realize the point of movies. All that being said, I did hate Jared Leto's Joker, if I had ANY criticism of the movie it was Joker.

the biggest problem i had with this movie is it thinks the viewer is going to approve of the movie because it's flashy and has a couple of good actors in it, it will make up for the flaws in story telling and the editting of the movie.

i liked jared leto as the joker. the way they used him in the movie, i did not like. it's a fun movie if you can look past the obvious flaws.
man of steel is still their strongest movie. they build superman's character in a beautiful way, and destroyed everything about him in BvS. he was just moping around all movie.

You don't need anyone to validate your taste Akasan - if you like it, you like it, and at the end of the day that is all that matters. For myself, I think the movie was fun but very, very flawed. Then again, a lot of those flaws are also to be found in many, many much better regarded comic book movies and indeed movies in general. Weak antagonists are at epidemic levels right now, as are underdeveloped secondary characters and cliched plot lines - Suicide Squad is emblematic of the malaise effecting the modern blockbuster in general because it is so good at conveniently highlighting so many of these faults all in one place, but I wonder how much worse it really is than many of its peers.
I feel like i'm the only one who likes MOS, BVS, and SS. Maybe because i'm just happy to see all my childhood come to life.
So in summary, you are willing to lower your standard for a movie that you want to love so much just because you don't want to say it sucks. Okay Akasan. Have it your way.

I've barely read any Suicide Squad comics, and I still think this movie could've been way better.
I completely understand Joker not being g as much in there, I have zero problems with it.
But because of DC dumb order of creating these movies, people complained about not having enough Joker.
If the Batman solo movie with Joker had been released prior to Suicide Squad, as anyone with decent brain function would had done, this complaint would've been avoided.
I recognize that BvS and SS certainly had flaws but I prefer BvS quite a bit more. The editing overload and a lack of direction were really evident in SS. Usually a weird dialogue goes unnoticed by me but for some reason the dialogue in SS was bad.
I'm one of the few that liked the movie. It wasn't perfect, but I had fun watching it.

Guardians and Iron Man were their biggest risks. During the time of Iron Man, they were in kind of a money slump and RDJ was trying to get out of his drug stage during that time too. Also, nobody really heard of Guardians of the Galaxy so no one knew what to expect. Now look at it, it's one of the most successful Marvel movie to date. So, no, I wouldn't say Marvel doesn't take risks when needed.

I don't hate the DCEU, I don't love the DCEU, I enjoyed Suicide Squad.
I loved the movie but this team should have just gone on a different mission. I don't need a strong story from SS but they should have been fighting a different villain. I don want a 2nd SS but make it R and have them fight someone who doesn't have super nature powers.
There were fun parts to the movie I thought. Will Smith was good, Jai Courtney was fun. I loved him taunting Diablo with the lighter. Waller felt more like the villain than Enchantress but E wasn't a good central villain anyway.

It's not a good movie but that doesn't mean there's nothing good about it. It's tough making a comic book movie that's both good and sticks close to the source material. Movies and comics are two totally different things. Like I say, you're not paying a drawing of Tony Stark $20 million.

This movie sucked, along with the Flash and Green arrow, seriously though, react to something else will ya, your channel used be way more diversive, ah the good ol' days.

The two years has been good Akasan. Well then adieu.
There was a lot of things wrong with the film, many that even an idiot could point out.....I rated it a 5/10 from a professional point of view ( most critics agree with me, and this honest trailer points out A LoT)....if you want an action packed movie cheeky moments and a fucked up dull story line this is a movie for you.

suicide squad was below average filmmaking and storytelling masqueraded with pretty glitter and shoveled out early as an emo teen comic movie
I'm sorry, but after Heath Ledger's Joker, any Joker that doesn't live up to that level of performance is going to get shit on. Heath Lesser was a good joke, and kinda fitting because despite being one of the more interesting characters in DC, I wasn't even bothered by Joker's lack of screen time after his first appearance in the movie.
To be honest, the DCEU movies aren't really the disasters they're labeled as, they just range from meh to pretty good, with Wonder Woman being the exception. They also have the misfortune of having some bad casting in a few key roles (i.e. Joker and Lex Luthor). The biggest problem, is that they're being compared to the Marvel superhero movies which are being done right. If they didn't have that competition/comparison, there's a chance that they might not have been criticized as harshly.
That was a dick move with Batman going after Deadshot while he was spending time with his kid.
