    @Majdq8 can you please tell me the name of the knots you used as the wishbones on this gun?

    Gun looks like a pain in the ass! :)

      @majdq8  Před 7 lety +3

      Yes is a big gun and takes long to load. Not for hunting in places where you take a lot of shots.

    It would be cool if you could add a dynamic element to your tests. Loading, mobility and simplicity need to be added to the equation.

    Beautiful gun! Work of art & engineering etc. etc.

    thanks a lot for testing, the point of these guns is a faster shot so that so that fast fish at say 5 m don't have a chance to escape the shafts route.

    You never gave the final verdict on this gun-waste of money? The first time I saw it looked great but then: 1. loading is a hustle. 2. body is overkill for a polispast, specially the head(far to wide), the rollers are for an ordinary roller gun- looks like somebody used a roller body constuction for a polispast. 3. It seems pretty inacurate compared to other guns in this length you've tested. 4. If I'm not mistaken these guns go for around 1400 usd, so a denton 110(with better accuracy in that range) for 700EUR, is a far better option?

      First I want you to show us a video how you shoot better with denton 110 than this gun.Im sure you will give different results than Majd.He is used to control recoil of classic guns bu the way he holds the gun and positions body arm and shoulder.Polispast rollers shoot the same no matter how you hold them and most people have more confidence and better shooting with them.
      Trust me I have passed the Denton era years ago and I make not only rollers,but nice carbon classic guns,that shoot than like the Denton and has more extras plus better shape .This is becouse I invest many hours of personel labour and spearfishin experience in that.Its not like routing a peace of furniture and screw a nanddle on it. I say that with respect to Abellan who makes some of the best working wooden guns

    The force applied to the arrow at the firing is half of the power generated by the tires when arming, explained by the pulley system that has the weapon.Thats why oceanborn 125 with only 3 * 14 bands and 8mm shaft produce more power and give better penetration results!!
    This speargun to have the same power with the ΟΒ should have six pairs of bands (6*14) that is 12 bands !!!!

    • @sealkosta6508
      @sealkosta6508 Před 7 lety +3

      Yes,thats why you use thicker bands to have space for the tension reduction.But the speed potencial is better,recoil is verry little and shots are verry precise and repeatable.I doubght Majd ever hit so many times in one hole with another gun.The high and low shooting is a matter of habitude and way of aiming. Rifle shooters know that the main sign of accuracy is the tide group of shots,wich can always be mooved to the senter with propper aiming.
      Polispast guns generaly have the most natural trajectory of the shaft,becouse of progressive energy releasing and soft recoil. Good heavy classic guns with eliminated muzzle flip release the energy immediately and that makes a down flopper stress wich lifts the shaft a little.Thats why they have higher trajectory,but not so good repeatable shots.They need control and experience to shood good like Majd.

    Strange, I have the same gun, had no problems with the trigger for 2 years! Also the shaft with double flopper gives 100% accuracy! What is the notch of this hunter spears that you are using? Needs to be the oval shape, not the rectangular ones, that will damage the trigger mech for few shots!

    • @DeepBlueSpirit2
      @DeepBlueSpirit2 Před 4 lety +1

      Rectangular recess in the rear of shafts is meant for US style trigger mechs, the oval recess is for Euro style guns.

  • @jujuhu3713
    @jujuhu3713 Před 7 lety

    Are you familiar with the roisub guns- does that uper rubberband work? It seems obsolete, since the polispast is a good system..

    • @DeepBlueSpirit2
      @DeepBlueSpirit2 Před 4 lety

      Inverted rollers tend to be a bit 'slow' at the beginning - that's why some gun are equipped with a kicker band to help accelerating the shaft in the very beginning after the trigger is pulled

    Hi maj, I can't get my head round the pulley system. Am I right in thinking 1 pulley will half the power? but the wishbone will move twice as fast?
    Anyway I was wondering if the rollers can be replaced to change this into a normal double roller? In a single stage setup would that be something you would interested in testing?

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 8 lety +1

      +favernoogon Lol ... that makes two of us! Yes I am thinking to change the setup .... I think the pulleys on bottom are not helping much and just using up too much band stretch real estate. I might try something.

    With all these almost futuristic gear, it takes all fun out of normal spearfishing. BORING gun. Your videos are outstanding information, very helpful to ones who can not afford to test dozens of guns and rely on at best half a dozen even some homemade. RESULTS COUNT, if dinner is great fish, who needs this contraption?
    What next? Sticks of dynamite?
    Rollers are excellent power machines as are ever so young sling guns even pipe one., no guides. Your videos are very quality educational pieces of ART. THANKYOU for sharing your experience and super knowledge. Always nice to learn more from you.

      Thanks for the kind words and I think you are 100% correct. I think what should guide someone to a gun is how accurate it shoots and how powerful it is. Sometimes simple and low cost can outperform guns costing 10x more with 10x less weight and 10x less complications and things to go wrong.
