But I have a scooter, and it has two traction roller and ring. whether it is possible to use rods 16mm 8mm spear as well as with 14.5mm? • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 7 lety

      No you cannot use an 8mm shaft with the gun as the ET will accept maximum a 7mm shaft. I read that there is a way to remove the ET but still not sure how. I had to manually file off the ET and that took a long time.

  • @puttepalt6336
    @puttepalt6336 Před 3 lety

    You are still loading the gun WRONG the bands are twisted. Load by reaching though the band closest to you and grabbing the band closes to the end of the gun LOAD, then load the band that is closest to you. It’s always a god idea to read the manual. Good luck again👍🏼

    Your videos are very good! Thank you so much! Unfortunately I watched this video after buying pathos sniper 105. The speargun shoots higher and left with the brand setup(6.75 and 2×16). I would appreciate if you could tell me what setup to choose and if I have to remove necessarily the ET. Thanks!

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 7 lety

      I would first check to see which ET I have. Apparently there is an ET with a larger diameter inside. This should work better. As for shaft shooting high, it is probably doing a "wheelie" and hitting nose up. That is not good at longer distances as if shaft tip goes up you lose power. Try loading line your on rest tab and if that doesn't work, try using another 6.75mm shaft. Removing the ET is not so easy and needs quite a big of modifying.

    • @user-br7pg9fu4y
      @user-br7pg9fu4y Před 7 lety

      majdq8 I think the bigger it suits in the ET is the 7mm. What about 7mm and 2×14?

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 7 lety

      Ah ... no ... I mean that Pathos has 2 versions of an ET, one with a small diameter ET and the other with a larger diameter ET for the american market. Not sure which one you have. If the american version then for sure you should do well even with 7mm shaft ... but the other version (which is tested in this video here) did not do well with 7mm shaft as there was too much velocity drop on the ET. If your gun has the smaller ET then best setup would be a 6.75mm with 2 x 14mm small ID.

    • @user-br7pg9fu4y
      @user-br7pg9fu4y Před 7 lety

      majdq8 I will test this. I was thinking about cutting the ET with cutting wheel (if I call it right).

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 7 lety +1

      I think you can tap the track out by just using a small hammer and punch. But then you have to also remember that you need to add a pin to the muzzle as the ET holds the shaft without pin. Maybe just getting the version with a larger ET is a better option if you don't plan to spend a lot of time on the mod.

      @majdq8  Před 4 lety +2

      Majd - have a suggestion for you. you have a lot of fans, some of whom have video editing skills.
      My son has a very strong youtube channel on disc golf and he's learned that his fans/subscribers want to help produce his very time-intensive event videos. So he's got graphics artists helping up his videos look more like ESPN, videographers helping film disc golf events around the world - motivated just because they want to support what he's doing for their beloved sport. It's kind of amazing (as are your tests). I think you could write up what you want for captions at different time-stamps, write a few editing guidelines and share files via the cloud. Ask and you might find some editing assistants! Also you could add a Patreon button for donations to help with your work that benefits the spearfishing sport so much.

    • @majdq8

      no need for 3 bands, just 2 bands is perfect. The third band might actually hurt performance if using shafts @ 7mm diameter and less.

      @georgebrintalos1809 Před 7 lety

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 7 lety

      Yes, I think a shark finned shaft 7mm shaft is a big improvement over the slotted 6.75mm shaft. But even then a 160cm shaft @7mm can cause shaft whip once the gun is pushed. Best is to go with a high quality 7.5mm @ 160cm.

    • @georgebrintalos1809
      @georgebrintalos1809 Před 7 lety

      thank you Majd! the 6.75mm shaft that comes with gun is @ 150cm. The 160cm isn't too long for a 110cm gun or it doesn't matter? Basically the question is : 7.5mm @ 150cm or 7.5mm @ 160cm? many thanks!

    Do you think enclosed track has such a bad impact on a 95 roller version?

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 7 lety +2

      I think for a 6.75mm shaft or smaller diameter shafts the ET will not affect things too much. But if using 7mm shaft , there probably is a significant drop in performance. With a 95 gun try using a 6.5mm shaft.

  • @Diazodinitrophenol
    @Diazodinitrophenol Před 7 lety

    I have a pathos sniper roller and the gun changes buoyancy depending on the amount of water inside the muzzle. The empty space inside fills slowly if I go deeper and when the gun is out of water it dripps out slowly. Should I seal it or should I make a hole in it so water can flow in and out freely, remove the weights and hope it would be buoyand enough? Thank you! :)

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 7 lety

      Yes there is a cavity that fills up with water. You can a 2cm styroboard and then while the muzzle or back is removed ... just push it into the styroboard. The edges of the aluminum will make a perfect cut out. Do this a couple of times to fill the cavity and then put the gun back together. Don't use normal foam, use stiff XPS styroboard.

    • @Diazodinitrophenol
      @Diazodinitrophenol Před 7 lety

      Thank you! Will try that. I am also going to mod my handle. Since i watched your videos I finally know why my gun shoots left all the time :) Keep up the great work!

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 7 lety

      Yes ... understanding how recoil works and how to control it properly with a good designed handle is a game changer! You get more shaft velocity, more power, more accuracy ... with less felt recoil. Remember, this is not an Ergonomic handle ... it is completely different. Try to go through the theory video part first to understand better how it all works.

    • @Diazodinitrophenol
      @Diazodinitrophenol Před 7 lety +1

      I watched all the theory and I understand it is not about ergonomics but recoil transfer. I always thought a good gun should shoot precisely no matter how you hold it but it seems it's not like that. I have also come across a few problems during only 10 or so uses of my pathos roller (e.g. the rest pad totaly broke, one of the whishbones went through constrictor etc) because it is evident pathos was trying to cut production cost as much as possible, but with a bit of work I hope it will be a good gun. I also plan to change the rubber to rob allen although original pathos seems progressive enough.

    I want to buy a pathos sniper 105. How about changing the 2x16mm with the pathos latex anacoda 14mm (3,2). Should i put 6,5 or let th 6,75 shaft with this setup?

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 6 lety +1

      Best results I have had is using a 6.75mm or 7mm shaft and 2 x 14mm bands at 360%. You should not use more than 7mm shaft on the Sniper because of the Enclosed Track. Actually maybe 6.75mm will give better results. I do wish Pathos would widen the diameter of their ET to allow for 7.5mm and 8mm shafts for the longer guns.

    • @constantine2572
      @constantine2572 Před 6 lety

      360% means that the bands extend 3,6 times?
      sorry but i am not a native speaker of english

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  Před 6 lety

      360% means taking the distance from the band hole to the shark fin of the shaft and then multiply by 2 (2 sides) then divide by 3.6 for 360%. This is you band cut length. The wishbone length is up to what you like. This gives you an estimate as bands of same diameter rating are not always the exact same diameter.

      I wonder why dont you take into consideration regarding length calc wishbone and constricting knot?
      What i do is
      Length from rubber hole to desired notch then subtract like 4 cm (wishbone plus .75~1 cm for un-used rubber after knot)
      Then multiply and divide and finally i add like 1.5~2 cm for the knot

      Yes all these guns I own. My advice would be to get an aluminium Pathos with a D'Angelo 1 handle which has the plastic trigger and doesn't need upgrading of sears. A 100cm size will easily be able to handle what you want to shoot even at longer distances. I would switch out the bands to 14mm small ID as they are easier to load and give better velocities. But really you can use the gun as is with very good results.

      Yes I also couldn't understand how 14mm small ID bands can perform better than 16mm ... but that is fact that I have confirmed over and over again in testing. I think maybe because thinner bands have less resistance to water drag ... thus for lighter shafts they can contract much faster ... thus more velocity.
