- Why are adults (me) watching a preschool show about a family of cartoon dogs? To get a better understanding, I watched every Bluey episode and then made a video about it.

As a Canadian, I sincerly apologize for the creation of the monster known as Caillou. I hope you will accept this apology, as we are trying to make things right.
As a Canadian I am ashamed to admit that I did not know we created the montrocity that is caillou I watched that show when I was really young and it really had a negative influence on me and I still remember the one episode that got banned when caillou hurt his baby sister only the og’s remember that
@@Wageslave645 no need we have stronger beer
I’m 28 and I grew up with Caillou lmao I still remember “toilet paper, light bulbs, socks for Rosey’s crayons.” Pls help.
Leave it to the canadians to apologize :/
Don’t beat yourself up, as someone who grew up in the 90s, who’s little brother loooved Caillou, I say maybe Caillou walked so that Peppa could run so that Bluey could SOAR! 😅
I'm a pediatric nurse & I have to say, hearing Bluey in the background while in a patient's room is so much more soothing than any other kids cartoon. It's also very nice to see patients of all ages enjoying the show, from toddlers to preteen.
I was about to say, am almost 30 and my sister and I love to watch bluey together. but then I saw you were talking about your patients.
i am 7
Bro, I just watched "The Sign", and I just would say that is the best Bluey's episode (even over Sleppytime, Baby Race or Cricket).
It had everything. I mean, moments like when Bingo's crying or when Bandit ripped the sign off where so emotional; then Chilli tackling Bandit and crying on his shoulder, then kids running around the house, watching everything around, then the moment when Chilli takes out of the box the rug and they share the fish & chips (with the amazing animation of them while behind them is that "Golden sunset", all of that while episode was playing one of the best songs I've ever heard in an animated series.
Funny detail is thats thanks to the girls trying to tell to Stripe and Bandit that "Wedding was off", Chilli decides to go with the girls to go and look for Frisky.
Then when they make the first stop at Juice shop Bluey found a coin (this is really important); then Chilli founds out where Frisky could be, so they went to the hill. When they found her.
Then when Chilli left her alone with Rad, they when to the telescope and Muffin stuck Bluey's coin in there (and they finally left it).
Then all happend; the wedding, the house got sold, they were leaving; but right in that point we can see the dogs that bought the house in the same telescope where girls left the coin, then he used it and they saw that Winston dad's house was on sale, so they decide to don't buy Hellers house.
Then when Bandit received the call from the real state agent; Joe Brum (Director and Creator of Bluey) and Ludo Studios gave us the best finish of a season that I've seen in a cartoon (Just after Regular Show's ending).
But it wouldn't be like that hard without that music in the ending; music and vocals were perfectly fitted in the right moments, all meanwhile Hellers were just "living the moment" sitting on the kiwi rug, eating their fish and chips.
It seems that everything worked out. 💙🧡
i knowwww!! :333

Fun fact from an Aussie: A lot of the child voice actors (for bluey, bingo and some of their friends) are just children of the production team. They aren't listed in the credits to somewhat protect them and give them privacy since they're so young and becoming known at that age from such a popular show can become harmful. The infertility episode is mentioned several times in this video. I want to note that Chili (the mother), who is implied to have had a miscarriage, and her sister, who is hinted as being infertile, are Red Heeler dogs, a breed that are known to have fertility issues. The amount of thought that is infused in this show just blows my mind.
This is deep! As someone who struggled with infertility, I know it will pull on my heartstrings.
Not so fun fact it has been confirmed
The episode came out in Disney Plus
Yeah, my sister (who has two children and has seen every episode of Bluey, at least all the episodes on Disney+) used to be a vet tech, and she says all the dogs in the show behave remarkably like the breeds they're depicted as being. It's just so well-thought-out.
Ohhhhh wow! Such. Freaking. Details! Also, the creator confirmed the popular theory

Agreed 👍
IKR
Dude the dog versions of all the people who worked on the video are just amazing

I'm more convinced the the show is made for the parents more than the kids. I went through a miscarriage in 2019 and seeing the show imply that Chili went through it made me so emotional. It also gives me hope that I'll still get my rainbow someday like she did when she had Bluey.
They're for both but ok
The miscarriage has actually been confirmed! Due to the theory, the writer of a book about miscarriages reached out to the Bluey creator who confirmed the theory. The book is called Hard to Bear.
It's probably like every kid's show that they slip in stuff for adults because they know a lot of adults watch with their kids. I would even say they slip stuff in to pique a kid's curiosity so that they will ask their parents about it and will give the parents something to talk with their kids about.
If I recall correctly, the team first pitched the show as an adult-oriented sitcom. More family-friendly than "adult animation" tends toward these days, but decidedly for parents. The show didn't get picked up, and so they retooled it to be more about the kids, but the shows original premise lives on.
I'm sorry about your miscarriage. My wife and I had two and nobody prepares you for it.
you have have no idea how validated i feel knowing that someone like James has fallen in love with this masterpiece of a show.
Yes! I know! It is a masterpiece.
12:21 Caillou doesn't suck. He isn't the one to blame. As I remember, the parents of Caillou are the ones to blame. Caillou is just a 10 years old, and his parents are spineless. Parents are the one to teach their kids to be better. If Caillou's parents constantly allow it to happen without taking action and, if it continues to happen, don't go to some professional for help, then... why do you blame Caillou? Parents must be able to do something much better than just run around and say "Caillou, that's bad!", and then not solving the problem when Caillou continues to do it again and again
13:18 It would become much worse actually. Parents would just place their responsibility on Caillou and then feel free to beat him up because "It's Caillou, he's bad! It's not like we are supposed to take the responsibility for his actions while he's 10 years old!"
I could listen to you talk about Bluey for another half hour at least! Great episode!
The fact that bluey was able to teach kids and adults the duality of evolution and religion without facebook moms being greatly outraged is the most suprising thing to me
When was that ?
@@tristantries9211 In the episode James dove deep into towards the end. It showed the idea of a creator (the parents) alongside life developing and advancing on earth (the girls' increasingly sophisticated play).
Don't read my name.!...
Bluey did it so perfectly to avoid any outrage. Evolution moms can just point to that aspect and use the cave paintings to talk about greek mythology or what have you. Religious moms can talk about the Bible saying God created all these others things and then ending with creating Man and so on. Give both views the ability to interpret the episode in their favor and there's nothing to complain about lol
Seems to me like adding complications to evolution for the sake of religion, but whatever. It's like explaining Alaxander The Great's military success by his masterful strategy, technology, and that he was the Son of Zuse. I mean, if anyone is going to claim divinity, it might as well be the guy that conquered most of the world before he was 30. But more tresstral reasons can do all the work. So I'm not sure what Zeus adds.

What I like about Bluey is that the parenting is not what some people might consider stereotypical "new-age" parenting, where the kids just do whatever they want with no repercussions. Yes, there is no violence in the house, like corporal punishment, but the girls are still properly parented when they do something wrong. It's kind of amazing to see, actually. That tightrope balance of keeping your kids in line while not resorting to physical punishment, and sorting problems out thoughtfully and respectfully. The couple of times where either parent is about to lose their temper is relatable, but they never, ever cross that boundary, and the overall picture is just such a loving, caring family. What a well done show!

Honestly Bluey is a breath of fresh air in kids shows, because it’s genuinely enjoyable to watch even as an adult, and has valuable lessons to teach to all ages, also it’s just painfully wholesome
i see everyone saying this, but in my opinion phineas and ferb also did something similar more than a decade back

Ok
@@sylvy16 I agree but I do think that Bluey has gotten into some deeper lessons just given what the story is about allows them to explore those things. Like miscarriage.
Yes
There was a point in time where my little sister watched Bluey every day for two months, and the whole rest of the family was pretending-not-pretending they weren't also binging it right behind her. Such a good show. I love it.
Same with my little cousin!
@osheridan same with mine
I see it on the TV, end up mindlessly watching it, and have to remind myself to not watch it because my sister wouldn't ever let me hear the end of it... :/
As a Aspiring animator, this Show gently teaches us so much about life in a beautiful way
I'm not able to unsee everything that you talked about in this video when I watch bluey
As a true Aussie I’m so glad the rest of the world can love our Aussie humour, so glad James made a video on this!
I watched this so much as a child good days 🥲
So true! I makes me happy that Australia is getting a good and accurate representation lol Australia sorta gets brushed aside in The media
Aussie humor also works in Britain since Australia once was British
The fact that James team drew themselves as Bluey perfectly is talent.
hes not bluey, thats his own oc

@@someotherguy41 well I mean in the artstyle lmao
Not to mention they keep the voice actors of bluey and bingo a secret till they can decide if they want the publicity. Just another reason it's a great show.
As an almost 26 year old woman who acts younger than my age I find that watching Bluey brings out my inner child. I relate to a lot of the characters (Muffin is the most relatable for me because she has adhd like me). Even though I don’t have kids, I do have a younger brother and younger cousins who enjoy the show.
I’ll say this with confidence as a single male 16 year old teenager, I don’t think any form of media will make me feel as emotional as when I first binged every episode of Bluey. I found out about it and just decided to give it a watch, and it really surprised me because of how mature it is. The feelings I had watching Bluey through for the first time are not replicable for me through any other show.
im a family issues having 14 yr old and i watched s2 and 3 of bluey while having an ear infection and the show gave me happiness in a time that i mentally could not be remotly happy if anything even makes me grin a little during the worst parts of my ear infection that thing would be the god sent of happiness let alone make me full on toothy grin ear to ear smile i need to rewatch bluey oh my god
Bluey is such a good show
maybe give bojack horseman a try?
I cried when the budgie died
I’m a 16 year old girl and my 3 year old sister got into Bluey, my whole family cherishes the show, it’s so funny and moving at the same time. My little sister is the real life version of Muffin. (If you know you know lmao)
