- This was Drewski's first flight with me in the Flanker in a MP server. Just before this, I just quickly went over with him how to work the plane and he basically handled it like a champ. Very impressive!

Anyway, I managed to use some sneeky breeky tactics to get a handle on the bandits, but we had limited weapons which is why I was using the Rs and such. Also it's been a little while since I've used this puppy so there were some rusty moments. Overall though, it's a lovely plane.

The R-27Rs seem like interdimensional missiles, after traveling about 5 nm they quantum-hop into a universe where the atmosphere is made of honey and as a result lose all their kinetic energy quickly.
I general redfor missiles are mostly not really well modelled in Dcs

Wake turb is simulated in the F18.. Most people have it off though and don't realize is when a server forces it on.

In the 1990's we had Flanker 1.0 - 1.5; Then we got Flanker 2.0 - followed by Lock On, which was effectively Flanker 3.0. Then there was Flamng Cliffs 2 = Flanker 4.0. With DCS + Flaming Cliffs 3 = Flanker 5.0. Was not meaning to flippant as much as observant.

It's decent enough if the other guy only has Sparrows. Sparrow goes a little farther but the 27R is a lot faster.
Not really for trolling on the 80s server where only fox 1s and 2s are allowed, and age limits.

@@DokturProfesur Russian exports are routinely nerfed. Take the MiG-23MS for instance with it’s garbage IR only capacity. All of those export F-16A’s lacked BVR capabilities so it’s not like the US of A hasn’t screwed our allies like that before. Idiots should’ve bought the F-20 instead! Well, maybe not Pakistan.

Nice to see you flying red air. Were you forced by the server to take the normal R-27R & -T versions? No flanker driver uses them if they have access to the ER/ET versions. I agree 100% that the basic R has terrible range, especially in a low tail chase. ET may be the ultimate tail chase missile though.

Isn't there any "direction" tracker on the HUD on the SU-27? You know, the round little circle representing the current direction the airplane is moving in - which in turn changes when you change the throttle, etc? Nice video, mate! :D

It's a limitation of the Buddyspike 80s server (I think that's what they were on)

This is much better than the ones seen & played on the Ace Combat games, where the Sukhoi Flankers r the most overrated fighters in the game.

So why does the Russian HUD Attitude indicator exaggerate by 90 degrees? Never known why.
They work in the other direction to Western ones, which makes it look weird until you figure it out.

Dcs is very saturated by default and by the slight yellowing I would say probably not. It is possible that he is using a very low amount of shaders to make a light difference but it doesn’t look like it.

I was surprised to find out today that Flight Simulator 2020 has mechanical turbulence.
Strange to see the "plane" turning in the artificial horizon, as opposed to the artificial horizon moving, in western planes. I think it actually contributed to a crash with a Russian Airbus, because the pilots got confused.
