Imagine if an artist came out today with a whole album of tracks like this. Hip hop doesn’t have to be a war zone with bodies laid out all over the streets, does it? Just thinking out loud.
I keep thinking the same. Their music from Elephunk and Monkey Business that wasn't in mainstream was totally slept on, but it's soooo good. Today they'd be the coolest, like Anderson .Paak
I remember coming across this track on TV back when it first came out thinking that I stumbled upon a piece of musical treasure that no one knew about. Still one of the coolest instrumentals out there.
Monkey Business is immaculate, too bad it's underrated. They featured Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, Danja, then Q-Tip, Talib Kweli, Cee-Lo and John Legend in this song alone, then James Brown and Sting. It'll always be one of my favorite albums.
Brah, the love for a tribe called quest is strong in this song. The melody and vibe for one, will.i.ams verse is just a full on salute to tribe, phife dawg rip and ali shout-outs at the end, love to see the love! Didnt notice when i first listened as a kid lol
I shouldn't be surprised that there's gotta be somebody listening out of billions of people, but it still is amazing to see new comments. It's more amazing to think that we're probably from very different backgrounds. Peace from Malaysia.
Im still obsessed with this song i was 15 when this album came out on repeat on my ipod and honestly just a gem. Definitely was a golden era for black eye peas. I dont really listen to their new stuff past 2009. Those days were magical this song is just so sunny positive and fun❤
This the type of shit people miss out on by passing off the black eyed peas. Honestly if fergie never joined I think they would’ve never stopped with a more hip hop sound
Fragments of the song "Who Can I Turn To?" by Brazilian Astrud Gilberto was used by The Black Eyed Peas in this song. The group should give due credit.
El Segundo to TORONTO!! Ayyyy, we in here 🍁 We got mentioned alot in songs back in the 2000s, before Drake blew up. Ludacris - Pimpin' All Over The World T-Pain - Can't Believe It Trey Songz - Say Aah
My first job in ‘05 was at Footaction, and pretty much every hit from this BEP album was featured in the store DVD, which played around the clock. So glad to be removed from that time period to actually appreciate this song a lot more lol
I love this song because someone please tell me why the Jungle Brothers were not in this video or not on this track because dear the ones who made the phrase because I got it like that.
No not at all. I know the smart thing to do for myself...and I am in no way exploiting my knowledge and I don't like to keep it a secret. Whats the point to do so. If you have a passion for something why hold back? I choose to say whats on my mind only cause it's my opinion just like you did voice yours. Glad to see you speak the truth also....should be more people out there like that...Peace and Blessings
Not surprising, many people have sampled Astrud Gilberto and paid their tributes to her. Her work has been included in soundtrack albums with Frank Sinatra and Girl From Ipanema is alone a worldwide popular song , people at least know its tune. She was a Brazilian Bossa Nova Legend and a popular singer for a long time. The industry people might listen to her discography since it's gold.
only the best people of music! The guy in pink is Ceee-Lo (Gnarls Barkley), he sings "Crazy" .There's also Talib Kweli, listen to his album "Ear Drum". John Legend and last is Q-Tip.
To everyone who has returned to this song, welcome back😊❤
Classic ❤

They weren't that type of rap group to talk about violent activity
Agreed. This was a fantastic band.
are yall forgetting how violent rap was between 1990-2010??? it never changed 💀
@@bee8589 No more violent than the neighbourhoods
Man! I can’t believe we once had music this good. At least I was here to experience it. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE! Bittersweet.
I will never stop loving this song.
Sounds so fresh everytime
It's like that man🙂
anything with q-tip is gold.
I remember coming across this track on TV back when it first came out thinking that I stumbled upon a piece of musical treasure that no one knew about. Still one of the coolest instrumentals out there.
Missing the Black Eyed Peas with Fergie. So glad this video clip is back on CZcams!❤

Rest in peace Ms. ASTRUD GILBERTO ( song sampled "Who can I turn to?") 🙏🏾

damn listening to this and remembering the good days of living with my parents as a carefree child. Good vibes
this is rap classic 💣🔥👊🎙🔝

Peace from Malaysia.
And greetings to you! From a Venezuelan in Perú
Most underrated BEP song from their 2000s era
Q tip on that intro. And cee lo on the chorus jeez. The beat is mad ill

We been knew that Black Eyed Peas were dope back then but then they fell off and made party music
@@KJ-je9pm they never fell off, they just love to experiment on genres, look at them now with latin artists
@@KJ-je9pmCope
Compared to the trash music of today this song feels like a lifetime and alternate universe ago.
I’ve been looking high and low for this damn video! Shyt! Lol
Dude same I love this song so much, especially Apl.de.ap's part it's really smooth
Been a fan of this song since 2005. It will never get old.
Song reminds me of their Joints and Jams days,no Fergie, just dope music and lyrics
i can't get over how fresh this track is!!! i'm no Peas fan but, this is one of the freshest hip hop joints... PERIOD.
Favorite track from this band. Awesome.
Like every video, she is awesome 👍
this was one of my favourite songs
on the CD!
Yo this song changed my life 🙏🏾
Fragments of the song "Who Can I Turn To?" by Brazilian Astrud Gilberto was used by The Black Eyed Peas in this song. The group should give due credit.
The comment I was looking for!! I love the beginning melody. Im sure BEP paid their dues to Ms Astrud. Thanks for sharing the original song!
this is called sampling
WTF I DIDN'T KNOW THERES A VIDEO FOR THIS!!!!!!
12-13 years since anyone has commented here , song is still a bop!!
Nothing but fax.
This song deserves some tik Tok fame
This is when you have a group of MC's who are all secure and enjoy making more of a GOOD song rather than out doing one another.
Remember hearing this song in my older cousins room and to find out that all these features are legends in there own right😪😭😱🤯🤯❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Finally ive found one of my favorite songs by #BLACK EYED PEAS....love this 🎵 🎶
No the phrase 'I got it like that' has been used before 1988. This BEP song is unique.
I feel like this song is underrated
Hella underrated
Taboo was always my favorite
I'm guessing you're Latino
This song is so dope. I never knew there was a video for it.
Sampled from "Who can I turn to" and "Because I got it like that"
Like that
Rapper: Q-tip, Will, Talib, Apl, and Taboo
Vocals: CeeLo Green and John Legend
MY FAVORITE SONG , THE OFFICIAL VIDEO IS ALIVEEE !!!
this joint is highly underrated!
Fergie's awesome in this video.
This beat is sick. Relaxed and choppy. Sweet!
the verse by W.i.l.l..a.m sounds like a tribute
Probably their best beat and there were alot of good ones but this one was ridiculous
It has to be one of the best hip hop beats ever, I always have thought so! Too bad this song isn't even very popular to most of their "fans"
Check out the song they sampled from Astrud Gilberto's who can I turn to?
QTips best verse hands down
as much as I like Talib Kweli and Q Tip is so important, I think my fav verse is actually from Apl.
This shit and falling up. Timeless state of the art sounds.
Apl d ap came in on this one!
Love to hear a new BEP joint all hip hop NO Fergie.
This song is a classic
BIG facts!!!
@@V4ultr3mTVmost definitely. Especially the test of time from 20 years ago

Best song in this album
DA BEST💯💯💯💯💯💥💥‼‼❗✅✅✅✅✅
Black Eyed Peas are awesome
Fun fact eventhough not credited but Justin Timberlake was also on this track singing background
If anyone its Astrud who should be credited.
El Segundo to TORONTO!!

Why does this have so little views? Lol this is one of their bests songs 😥
I was thinking the exact same thing😮
I love this song because someone please tell me why the Jungle Brothers were not in this video or not on this track because dear the ones who made the phrase because I got it like that.
Still great.

COOOL! loove it
I didn't know they made a music video for this song either
Rolón
It's shocking how a large music group like the Black Eyed Peas sampled such a niche singer like Astrud Gilberto. Truly shocking.

shocking? você não entende nada de hip hop né?
@@aelahn não, é por isso que eu prefiro a bossa nova😅 mas é uma boa música, não me interpretem mal.
