I still get called Caroline! 🌹 it truly is timeless and was a lot of fun to film. One of my all time favorite videos I’ve been in. Glad you all still enjoy it so much:)
Oh damn so that was you? Nice thats pretty cool glad you had fun
But your name is Caroline...
This really was my generations thriller as a music video.
You're gorgeous!
Your appearance with Outkast was one of my favorite musical performances on Letterman.
These guys were once booed off stage for winning a rap award then went on to absolutely dominate the early '00s.

Hard to believe it has been two decades since Outkast released this hit. Andre 3000 had great vocals while Big Boi had great rap! Roses by any other name would smell just as sweet!

You know it. I will never let go of the music I grew up to. I don't need anything after J Cole. Cole in my opinion is the last of a dying breed in my opinion. I might would throw Synba but his music doesn't get promoted enough nor does he get any radio play.

I mean this album went diamond. The only other rap album that went diamond in the early 2000s was get rich or die trying. Outkast is popular everywhere still
Eh, nah bro, OutKast is one of the premier hip-hop groups, and they've gotten huge recognition. Andre is considered one of the best modern rappers. They get credit, don't doubt it.

yeah because back then you actually made money off music videos and people turned on MTV and there would be music videos playing all the time, instead of dumb ass reality shows. Now people can just download music illegally and the artist gets no money off of it.. I do appreciate the artists who still work hard on their videos because they're doing it for the love of music and entertainment

The song "Roses" by OutKast is a commentary on the superficial relationships people often cultivate with others in order to gain things like money, power, or respect. It follows the story of a woman, Caroline, who is lauded for her beauty but overlooked for her personality. André 3000 is singing from the perspective of a man who is warning her that these types of relationships won't bring her true love or long-term success. Big Boi adds his part with an important reminder that women should seek out real relationships and not just chase money and status. Ultimately, the song warns against getting too caught up in appearances and speaks to the need for real, genuine connections and relationships. They were saying to them then, dont be all plastic, fake, money chasing ''bad bitch'' wont lead you anywhere.
Couldn't have said it better! 👍 OutKast was something different back in the day. This video still cracks me up every time.😂😅🤣 Congrats from Belgium 🇧🇪🎉 🍀
the LOX know about money power and respect :)
I’m being played like this song
THAT IS VERY REAL, Very Well Said For Real.
what andre 3000 forgot, is that there are psychopatic and narcissistic people, and they lack empathy all together, and these individuals will never desire/need real relationships, they have no ideea what he is talking about in this song, and they will never live to regret living a shallow and superficial life. 😂😂😂
Katt stole the show 😂😂😂😂💯

My son. He sure knew great music. Rest In Peace my Outkast fan. We will miss you forever. Love mom dad and Molly,
Rest in peace. 🕊️🙏✌️✌️
Sorry for ur loss🙏❤️
I can imagine what you’re going through. Music has such an overwhelming ability to conjure up the past and bring you right back to that moment and with those people. But no matter how happy the old times were, while reminiscing, there’s a constant looming awareness that you can never go back, and that the song will end in a flash. It’s why reminiscing is, in my opinion, always a sad experience. But reliving and remembering the past and the people we love is surely a rewarding thing to do, no matter the pain.
Peace.
Sorry for your loss & for sure your boy knew his music!

People will never understand how good Outkast is and how much worse off Pop music is without Outkast in the game. They put out every genre of music, jazz, blues, rnb, rap, hip hop, rock, soul, country, literally every motherfucking thing, and they did it to the highest level of quality. And they did it while being pop artists. Compare this music with stuff that is considered "pop" today and it doesnt measure up to even an inch of creativity, the skill and the genius of Outkast. It almost enough to make you weep for the state of music....
I'd say they were mostly rnb instead of pop. Their earlier albums are more rnb and rap based but Stankonia and Speakerboxx leaned more towards the pop side
Not going to say whether I agree or disagree, but I think a big factor today is just how easy it is for everyone to make music, so we end up with a lot of mediocre artists.

No f'n doubt. There's rappers, singers, MCs. DJs, hip-hop artists and so on. Outkast are absolute musical and lyrical artists in every sense of the word.
