You made the right choice because the new t7 is basically a transit van and the old shapes like we both have the prices may go up and we may make money if we ever choose too sell in the future
You should swivel the 2 front seats, get a double seat for behind the front seats, a flip up table between them, and then behind fork mounts on the floor for the bike to mount! Use the bery back and walls for hanging up your riding gear 💪🏻💪🏻

Rubber floor in the back, simple shelving for tools & kit. Go all in with a pop top or a roof tent, saw a van recently with an external welded on work stand arm.. keeping the front black might look a bit un-finished, but keep it, you can always take it off later 👍

Look at the blok.pod options. It’s MTB based but it works with Bmx too should you fancy taking both. Lots of racks, draws/storage and even folding bed options or heavy duty long draws to attach a stove and cook under the tailgate. I know you liek full DIY but they do so much that’s modular you could get great that you still make it unique to your style/needs and it’s quicker ready to start getting straight out in it

Defo keep the front of the van black . Looks cool plus helps protect against stone chips and road crap. Wouldn’t bother with shelves or racking. Just put up coat hooks on the walls for jackets and helmets. Then you could do a seat down one side that opens up to keep tools and bike gear inside. Defo need to build a big rack tho so the bike or bikes can stand up while in transport. Defo make the floor rubber for easy cleaning when bikes are dirty.

I wondered why I had not seen your T5, you sold it, am glad you bought it back. Be much better to transport your MTB in. Go totally the original colour, that grey is such a great colour choice.

The kilt pattern bucket seat is hot
I would install a pull out tray for two to three bikes, underneath that one or two trays for tools/ equipment. I would definitely install a water tank and a jet wash. Like you said somewhere to store a few helmets, goggles etc. You probably want somewhere to hang/dry wet clothes. There is loads you could do, but I am sure you have your ideas and it will come out how you want it to in the end.

Not keen on black frontend 🤷 go bench seats in the back for storage keep the width up top. Even use those slide out tool vaults type setup under a bench seat. Hyped on the van build 😁

40l Water storage
Copper pipe ( Stick this in the end of the hose pipe so it stays at the bottom of the barrel. Drill through the top of the water storage, Use a gasket seal to keep it air tight. Hose lock connector on the top to quick connect for cleaning)
2X Helmet hooks
That’s should be enough to keep you busy.

If you go for the ovano system you can get them to scribe your owna logo into the wood back panel, THQ have them on there's with their logo looks cool expensive but quality 👌

Harry them maxxis tyres are crap. Try Pirelli’s scorpion emtb/s there far more gripping and great for Enduro riding, Also Tannos armer rim inserts are awesome, Ride most weekends in the Lake District and had 1Puncture in 4years 👍
