    Great first video. I’ve been collecting for over 60 years. I have hundreds and hundreds of cards in snap tight cases. Would you suggest that I remove them and put them in top loaders? I also have quite a few cards in screwdown cases. What do you suggest.

    I originally collected heavily in the late 80's- mid 90's. Back when all cards were 1 thickness. And besides 1989 Bowman were all the same size lol. Covid and the hype got me back in the hobby like so many I'm sure. So I really appreciate this video as I look to top load some relic hits etc. And assuming a 35 point top loader will be okay for a double sleeve. IE penny sleeve into a top loader on a standard thickness card

    I hate to say this and I’m very mad at myself for this but I pulled a baker jersey and I creased the corner putting into a too small top loader...amateur move but a learning experience, was my first hit returning to the hobby and of course after 2 years it’s still the best card I’ve pulled, and it’s worthless now due to a damn mega crease lol

    Hello, Can you tell me which size penny sleeve will fit with a top loader. I'd like to buy them for my grandson but I am a little confused 😊 Thank you, Gannon's Grandma Linda

    • @Vikings95
      @Vikings95  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi Linda!
      So standard top loaders typically fit standard trading cards & sports cards, the very thin ones typically. Standard penny sleeves can be used with these! they are typically the way to go. If he has Jersey cards (sports cards with a piece of jersey in it), it makes the card thicker and then it might be beneficial to get the "thick" penny sleeves for thicker cards. These would also require a thicker top loader size too! But for the most part, a majority of cards use standard top loader sizes and standard penny sleeves!

    • @Vikings95
      @Vikings95  Před rokem

      the card thickness gauge should still give you a good idea on how thick the card is - If it is in between sizes, I would use the closest, larger top loader. If they're only slightly thicker than standard cards, regular sleeves are probably fine, but could use thick sleeves if they don't fit into normal ones

    • @Vikings95
      @Vikings95  Před 4 lety

      Hey Al! Are you talking about which product link is for a thicker penny sleeve? It should say "thick" or "Vintage" on the penny sleeve pack typically (Vintage cards are also normally larger sleeves as well)! Let me know if that didn't answer the question haha

    • @Al-ImprovEd2022
      @Al-ImprovEd2022 Před 4 lety +2

      Vikings95 yes. You need a thicker penny before you can get it into a thick .75 top loader. Why is it called vintage? All eras are same size.

    • @Vikings95
      @Vikings95  Před 4 lety +1

      I’m not entirely sure on the “vintage” part, I have some thick penny sleeves and also “vintage” ones that are thick as well! I usually use standard sleeves up to 100 pt cards, and then switch to thick sleeves when they get thicker than that and are more difficult to get into the sleeves (don’t want to damage the cards in the process of sleeving)

    Question from a rookie in the hobby. What is the purpose of these really thick cards?

    • @Vikings95
      @Vikings95  Před 3 lety +1

      Sometimes the thicker cards that don't have a jersey piece in it come from "higher end" sets, like Origins, flawless, national treasure, etc.. but some of the super thick cards are made that way because of the jersey patch / piece of memorabilia they have in them! That help?
