First time playing through SMT4 series.
Sequel too SMT4 (sorta)
Streaming this as I play through it, but still will make a movie out of it.
Pre-ordered a 3ds built in capture card a while ago 2016 (February) from Keity, but it takes around 5 months for them to make/ship it (I received it July 8th). Originally I had a 3ds XL just for this game, but the screen on a handheld device was just way too annoying to play on, and I'm not a fan of that but now I can play 3ds games on a monitor/tv with a lot bigger screen and it's a lot better now. - Hry

Alilat is the Mother Goddess that was worshipped in arabic lands before islam. She is said to reside in the black stone of Kaaba in Mecca and she was worshipped through stones, so that's why she's a pillar with a feminine voice.

The anarchy route is my favorite too. To be honest, I couldn’t see myself liking most of the human characters. Navarre was annoying, Gaston I disliked, Asahi was annoying too…and this will probably make me sound like a monster, but I thanked Shesha for eating her…twice

Not gonna lie, I went back to this fight after finally beating him the first time, realizing the level limit dlc was free, and oh man, that alongside having demons with a drain phys imposing stance combo was a game changer. First go, all the time in the world on my playthrough to prepare for the inevitable showdown. Goodness, reincarnation restart was meant to truly make someone godly.

As much as I love persona I actually prefer mainline generally (persona 3 is my favorite Megaten and just video game but otherwise I prefer mainline)
That's why I'm hoping SMT5 is a success, so we can see stuff like this on consoles.

The Satan in this boss fight can do about 2000 damage every turn with his megiddo ark, he's a beast
delgande true but Nanashi’s party is the one doing the most damage overall Flynn is just there to make it easier for you via godslayer sword and Satan makes it easier for Flynn to survive and do that for you at least that’s how I saw ot

I love the fact BuffMeister took Asahi, like I did. For she is best.
I feel like Asahi makes the most sense since she is the only one Nanashi knew for more than 5 minutes
Also the only one nanashi never kills..so reviving her doesnt feel nearly as weird
She's by far the best party member at this point. Next time I do a playthrough, I'm taking Toki because she is better wife material than Asahi. Besides, I don't want a girl who got her own father killed calling me "daddy."

I searched for YHVH's total hp in the wikia and it's supposed to be 30100. But I already dealt that amount of damage (considering his two forms) and he's far from defeated :/ So does he recover his full hp?

So h haven’t played any of the SMT games but I’ve played the Persona games but I wanna get into SMT, is this a good one to try first?
I'd go with Vanilla SMT IV first if I were you because Apocalypse spoils the story of the first one right off the bat. And also because personally I think it's a much better game although less newcomer friendly than the latter
Smt iv is probably the best starting place, digital devil saga is also pretty good. SMT III is great but probably not the best starting spot.

Well if you’re playing Anarchy that means all the sacrifices were meaningless but sure you could head back and go to twisted Tokyo to beat the fiends or do any of the other dlc

to put it simply, in the Massacre/NeutralDark route Flynn and someone you choose becomes your servants and the rest of the cast fragments of the new universe. Dagda brainwash them so they can be easier to control (i'm going from memory so i might have misremembered some details but the gist of it is that Flynn is brainwashed to be your puppet)..

What build did you go for?
Spam Flynn's Godslayer sword, it always hits weakness and it reduces a random resistance. If a certain resistance is reduced twice, let's say, fire, then YHVH is now weak to fire. The longer the fight goes on, the easier it is to hit YHVH's weak points.
What is flynn saying when attack?

@@shibba2517 YHVH is a corruption of YHWH (well to be more accurate, how the Japanese view the Old Testament God) and a corruption to everything the latter stands for; to increase the "Godly" factor doesn't work when your reaction should be more along the lines of "how pathetic" or "DIE YOU MONSTER!" then awe.
I suggest Prince of Egypt's Burning Bush scene and compare how you are meant to feel (or do) with this boss fight.

You wouldn't just be human, as you'd have understanding and most likely not have the same emotions or the same feelings as you did when you were human. That's the biggest problem, whoever becomes God just functionally becomes like YHWH and it's a never ending cycle. YHWH also wasn't the first God, as he too usurped power, much like Nanashi. There are other universes though, and each one has essentially it's own God and messiahs.

Eh, seeing as how it's Lucifer in SMT5 and not the same Lucifer that's part of Satan from this, I'm sure that if anything SMT3 is the one that correlates the most as TDE ending would lead to Demifiend leading Hell against YHWH. It'd also make sense as to why they're remastering and releasing SMT3 on the Switch around the same time.

SMT V is basically: There is no true ending, everyone suffers no matter your ending outside of the secret ending (even then, it makes you question everything) where you basically question all of your morals overall.

What does Atlus have against God?
Nothing, this is just a corruption of said being (notice the V).
To be fair if you don't at some point kill god/creator of the world then it's not really a jrpg
In a very weird way, Atlus switches the roles of God and Satan. So instead of a entity, who loves his creation, wants you to got to a level you are happy with, so you are "enough" to walk with him in Eden, he's now represented as a powerful dictacor with a napoleon complex. And instead of a classic Satan, who wants "blood for the blood gods, skulls for the skull throne", he represents rebellion, individuality and freedom for mankind. Very weird, but kinda common in JRPG's.
Edit: My personal favorite is how Atlus did it in SMT III Nocturne.
SoA is better than TWD The satan in this game is neutral. He wants there to be a fluid state of law and chaos but knows that YHVH has everything balanced towards law. In a way Satan is pro term limits. YHVH would be objectively right if not for the fact that he is able to be defeated.

If you read the Old Testament and the New Testament back-to-back, it seems clear, in my opinion, that Yahweh has nothing to do with the God Jesus spoke of. If anything, the Old Testament deity that comes the closest to the Christian God, in that it would be a universal god, is Baal - the one worshipped in Syria, whose priests were massacred by Yahweh's followers.
Yahweh isn't a universal god like the Christian one. Yahweh is the god of the Jews. He is a ruthless warmonger, trying to kill every other deity - much like his SMTIVA counterpart did. Fraternising with other tribes is considered, in the Old Testament, as one of the worst crimes a Jews could commit. Despite taking down other gods, he has no wish to convert other people to his religion (like Christian missionaries do): he wants his Jews to massacre or enslave them.
Again, I'm just doing a sum-up of what is written in the Old Testament. But if you disagree with me, I'd be delighted to hear your opinion. Please, go ahead. :)

A being so vast, powerful, and arrogant that all you see is it's authoritative head watching and judging you infinitely in all directions. No matter where you look you cannot escape it's gaze.
It was slightly underwhelming, but the 2nd phase of the boss fight was amazing
Presenting god as a flying face is not that odd as it seems first. The quran for example states that "everything perishes except God's face". So basically, God's face is its eternal essence .

I mean it was Atlus' decision to put smt 4 on the 3ds. It was probably because the game started development right when the ps3 was coming out. The ps3 wasn't doing to well initially so I'm guessing they thought of developing for the 3ds, given that Nintendo's handhelds tend to sell well.
