I remember I got Splatoon 1 day 1. I thought it sucked and never played it after the first week. I only really got into the series in Splatoon 2 and I wish I had waited just a little bit before dropping the first game. Still hard to believe that was 7 years ago.
I myself was scared off because of the fact that it was a shooter and I was a bit scared about how it would affect my soul. Needless to say, it was the first and the best of the first online games I've ever played.
For me it was different I love splatoon at first sight it not better then splatoon 2 I don’t know why people say that but like it was a Amazing game

@@Andriale Because I am a dream ghost, and dreams and ghosts really don't do well in war. Dreams turn into horrific nightmares, and ghosts can only stare on and see the blood of their friends spill as they join them in the afterlife in the most unfair and pointless way possible. And their loved ones that don't come with them they start to miss.

I didn’t play any matches myself yesterday, but I did celebrate by spending the day making a Splatoon 1 Octoling cosplay. It’s crazy satisfying seeing this game’s colorful yet grungy aesthetic IRL!
…It’s also satisfying seeing Mahi-Mahi exist again I miss that map immensely

I have been playing these games for the majority of my time in secondary school in the UK (also lasts 7 years). Now I'll be entering University around the same time Splatoon 3 is coming out. It almost feels like this game aged with me

Honestly splat 1 is so much more fun than 2, 3 is giving me huge splat 1 vibes so i hope its even better

The nostalgia hits hard. I remember playing this game everyday with my siblings. I especially miss the two player mode though, with the split screen.
Rainmaker hammerhead is probably one of the most unique map modes combinations.

Sometimes I would gaze at the background in Splatoon 1. I really admired how the environment was done in splatoon.. Wow 7 years ago..
Back when Splatoon 1 was new, I used to have a struggle going past B+ Rank for months. To think in Splatoon 2, I reached in X Rank on every mode except Clam Blitz. Being an og Splatoon player feels great.
For me was absolutely the other way around, got 2 smurf accounts (including my main) up to S (when it finally came out after everybody was sitting at A+ dor ages) and my main to S+, occasionally hitting the 99 points on good sprees. That was the X "equivalent" back then although it really isn't comparable. Considering i still was an early teen back then, im still impressed by myself. Unfortunately, i got my switch roughly half a year after release and bought Splatoon 2 with it because Splatoon 1 was by far my most played game on the Wiiu, and honestly didn't really like it. The playstyle was just not at all for me. I did over the years level up to 35 or so but that shows how little i played, which resulted in me barely hitting A Rank in Splat Zones and staying in B for the Rest. Splatoon 3 is a loooot more fun to me though looking back.
@@ilzuab8467 I remember loving Splatoon 1, not enjoying Splatoon 2, and now I love Splatoon 3. In fact I think it’s my favourite of the three but 1 is the most nostalgic

I remember all of these infamous things in splatoon 1, the worst one has to be the rainmaker with the max runspeed

One time I tried using the Inkzooka, got pushed into the water and never used that special again.

I toootally get now why everyone is talking about things like the plaza and stages now; the plaza looks so much cooler in Splatoon 1 and just from your ten second gameplay I can imagine Museum D'Alfonzo being one of the funnest maps ever.

I have a lot of nostalgia for this game. I loved Splatoon 1, and I'm fairly certain I got to A rank. But since I didn't have a switch until very recently, I never got to enjoy Splatoon 2. I hope that Splatoon 3 can give me the same feeling that the first game gave me all those years ago.

yeah funny thing, they have 2 accounts, one for drawing and one for playing basically, and you only see the drawing account in your plaza

One of my favorite memories of splatoon 1 is on hammerhead bridge when a roller rolled me in mid air. I was swimming up a wall and he fell though a grate doing a 180 killing me with a roll.

I remember how thrilling it was for me te be in that dark blue color. I felt so fuelled up and ready to battle. I rarely lost a match in that color. But damn that was already 7 years ago??

I had been watching your content for a little bit now, but this here made me subscribe.
The only one good thing i remember on hammer head bridge is having full run speed ups with either a shooter or a splatling.
As a Splatoon 1 veteran I absolutely love this 😂 I remember playing the 1st testfire and knew I had to game once it came out so I begged my mom for it (was 15) and ever since I’ve loved the community and the games to come along with it 🙌🏾 now obsessing over the third game!

I haven't played much of Splatoon 1, and the few times I have played were either at a friend's house, on a public trial console in my local mall or on emulator, but I have definitely enjoyed every second of it

I remember playing this forever ago, the map was at the bottom of the Wii, the old specials, how overpowered the kraken was, all the old maps, it was a lot of fun! Good times!
I got it as a few days late birthday gift on release day. 7 years ago. I don’t think I ever made it past B in the original but now I’m an X with an S+9 in zones in 2. Time sure flies, I really did grow up with this game. Looks so weird now haha.

Splatoon 1 was my favorite game when it came out and I still love it way more than 2. Somebody lost my 2 cartridge though so I haven't been able to play any Splat for years. I liked the meta in 1 didn't really mind how broken the weapons were imo the only problem was the strength/defense RNG meta, but you could still easily get to S without top tier gear. I'm excited for splat 3! I hope it's more like 1
