    Hi Jack and Ant, Good insight to how you have set it all up. I remember your video of when you cut the other ones up, as you say bit of experience and to didn’t muck about with this one, straight into it. Hope your drilling is going well 😂 ( well, I guess bore holes, not wells), ahh, the English language).

    Watching Jack go at it with various tools was funny as, the wiring diagram Ant did made me laugh so hard, great vid guys you show just how easy it really is, one thing that might help the wifi range is an external 2.4 GHz antenna or glass mount, if doing this make sure the coax used does not lose to much there are brands out there that use RG58 on 2.4 GHz I found when working in remote areas in the 1990 I ran the Optus Sat phone was great, plus mobile was really hit or miss, I look forward to the next vid of Jack and Ants' Aussie Adventures.
    Cheers

      I would put the aircube in the window since 2.4ghz would get eaten by the truck body.

    Awesome vid again! We want to do a flat mount to our Starlink for our Lap around Australia in a few months. Out of all of the flat mount you’ve tried out, which one do you prefer? I know the Antenna Accessories Mount is out of the picture because of its flimsiness! 😂

      From what we've tested the Starmount systems have been really good, but going for something locally produced is hard to beat, and I prefer the build quality of the trackify over the outback comms units.
      We will be trying out another system for the New Zealand market soon

    the ISP version of the Cube, hard to tell from here, but that is only 2.4ghz. So your performance would be a bit less then desirable, not like you need 300mbps down, but I thought I let you know you would not be getting your max more likely.

    • @jack_out_the_back
      @jack_out_the_back  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Yes absolutely, you won't get the performance from the starlink per device. But like you've said, for our use case we don't need max performance.
      Plus we have just a few of the ISP spare!

    Off the cuff comment......Why not mount those connections on the arch bar on the front side .....which will allow ladders etc to rest over the arch bar and not destroy the connections.

      Yeah that's a good point, I didn't want to put the cables on too much of an angle. But protecting them better is probably worth more!

  • @SteveMcInerney
    @SteveMcInerney Před 9 měsíci

    Watching you snip the cable ties; Use them a bit round home and got tired of snipping the ties. Grabbed a "cable tie gun/tool" off amazon. Makes it so much easier with cable ties to both tighten well, and snip off near perfectly flush. Much neater/easier. 25AUD. ymmv!
