Feels so good to see Tony Banks ! He wrote so many great songs. Most of Genesis's great stuff belongs to this man. His solo work is very good as well.

Excellent! Should have made a whole album with Toyah. Also side note... around this time Toyah's album Minx had Christopher Neil - producer, Adrian Lee - keyboards, Peter Van Hooke - drums. They all became Mechanics for Mike Rutherford.

I always say I became a TB's fan first than a Genesis's one. Although I did know some G's hits, I was completely insane with Quicksilver Soundtrack when I saw the movie at a local theater. I watched it three times in a row after school. I consider Soundtracks a masterpiece.

In time: I got the Quicksilver OST vinyl before to watch the movie, so when I went to the theater the songs were all in my mind already.

Tony, deep thanks for all the great art you bring to the world. Your playing and writing are both a source of such frequent listening joy. Also, loving these CZcams clips. Thanks for posting!

Ah... in the days when you could pick up things like the Soundtracks EP in your local WH Smith's most likely without anyone there knowing what the hell it was, haha
It would be very interesting to hear from those who have collaborated with Tony to get their own recollections/impressions. It was always a pleasant surprise to know that Toyah had penned the lyrics for Lion of Symmetry - some very 'Banksian' lines in there..
    Good fun!

Thanks Tony, i really like this and the song "Lion of Symmetry", i think that that song is an overlooked classic, the same goes for the majority of your solo stuff, "A House Needs a Roof" has a rythm that sounds really 80s, it really encapsulates that aesthetic really well. As a side note, "5" is my favorite album from last year and i still hear it on a regular basis, last year i gave "5" a 5/5, more than deserved and i don't regret that score one bit, you could say that "I Wanna Change the Score" not.

Funny that Tony was uncertain re Toyah.. considering who she's married to (hint: Mr Banks bought his 1st mellotron from his band).

Not very kind nor accurate what dear Mr. Banks says about Fish. Im sorry but he is an awesome vocalist. No one seems to match you, dear Tony. Maybe its british sense of humour.
    You arent a humble person.
    But, i aknowledge your candor.
You say what you think. No filters. And that I value a lot.
You are a very influential keyboardist. The sound of Genesis.
Your classical attempts are quite melancholic and sentimental. Not my cup of tea. But it is son great that you can do what you love to do.
    Best wishes.
