As requested, another elemental playthough, this time with the power of ice. I'm surprised this was even stronger than fire, the utility of freezing and encrusting was just way too much. And knocking every enemy prone perpetually is always a plus.

Fun Fact! You can skip the Duergar kill for the Frost Staff. The wall is weak to slashing damage, and attacking it doesn't get you in too much trouble. Just use darkness to avoid anything.

So cold you'll ignite. Suck the moisture out of something so badly it will combust with a spark. I'd say that's a scary threat.
It’s a tactic. They open the door ready to handle fire but get blasted with ice. Truly a strategic mastermind.
remember u can always cast Light - no concentration day long spell - on your main weapon, press U to have it always out and early shadow curse becomes a complete joke.
The only problem is you do need to keep the spell prepared, and I opted for keeping up my glyphs
@@Pheeon daylight is the spell you’re thinking of. Light is a cantrip, so no prepared spell slot taken. I believe it can even be cast on your armor if you don’t have any weapons equipped
@@InnocentLock-er6et Since I multiclassed into a wizard, I could only have one wizard spell prepared with me, also if I cast light on my armor and then unprepared it, the light goes away :(
@@Pheeon light is not a prepared spell. It is a cantrip so it doesn’t take any prepared spell slots. You could have even taken it at your first sorcerer level. I still think you are confusing it for the spell DAYLIGHT

Undeads, and most of the demons are straight up immune. Plus the duergars in act 1 are all poison resistant. It's gonna HURT
@@PheeonYou can get alot of the items in act 2 so you can use them in act 1 aswell

I'd never even heard of Baldur's Gate until a few weeks before the 3rd installation released, since then I've developed an intense passion for this game, and your videos are a way to re-indulge myself in that passion. Thank you for helping me to appreciate even more a game I already love, I hope this isn't your last BG3 video

Idk I'm a big AC guy. I love dipping 1 lvl into cleric for armor. Especially for frost build as you get create water from the start counts a full caster so doesn't crip your magical magazine.

Every character always has a dagger ready, when it's time to backstab someone, or cut something.
Someone should make a full party of all the elemental builds and wreck havoc

Just a note, if you're gonna take a level in wizard, you should respec to take wizard first and sorceror second. The reason is that scrolls will use or learn from will default to the casting modifier from the last unique class you took a level in, so you want that to be sorceror so your wizard spells will still be using charisma instead of intelligence.
You can just pick the spellcasting modifier you want when you cast a spell. It was annoying for that level since it defaulted to INT though lol, I didn't want to speak to withers all run though so no respecs for me

First off, this was incredible! I loved the ice theme, I loved the puns, and I loved the pretty pretty numbers. Second off, please someone tell me, is the intro noise Mothra? When "Pheeon" is displayed the the jaws open and close. If it is, nicenicenicenice, I respect it.
I had found a royalty free phoenix sound, but it very well might have been sourced from Mothra!

I did my big murder run without realizing there were cutscene deaths x)
@@Pheeon well, there cut scenes not for all companions. For Halsin it's throwing a rock, for Karlach - take head off. For Wyll its kill Mizora, for Shart it Durge kill sleeping. For Jaheira and Minsk there is one with Durge sort off.
i don't really know, if its possible to trigger all of them in one run. (you can include Minthara neck, but its tricky with Wyll then!)
ive been interested in doing a similar run, i love this! im being super nitpicky, but i wouldnt use ice knife for this run because it does inflict piercing damage as well. i cant think of a better level 1 spell though, sadly, so ill likely end up burning spell slots for sorcery points to spam out extra rays of frost

So, the vine door for the piece of the ice staff, you can just break it down and you’ll only get some disapproval rating. It’s literally free. And for the ice crystal, you can sneak up on him using minor illusions and if you’re lucky you can get the big digging guy to pop up there as well. So all the claw dudes are distracted while you just double cast spells to Quickly kill bro and get the crystal. Then you misty step away. The hevle was the hardest one for me but you can also misty step away after he dies.

@@robertbuchanan7609 or you can punch it down with you fist with no consequence and save a spell slot.
Elemental focus can make a very powerful character but can leave you struggling if you up against enemies resistant if you can't disable or weaken that reason.
Glyph of warding is one of the best spells ever. Like a pocket knife of elemental casting.

I legit made an ice wizard dragonborn named Glacius weeks ago lol he was a silver dragonborn durge though
there's something I'd like mention bcs your enemies were saving all the time, did you took off from your prepared spells the "Ice Storm" learned by scroll? If you're casting it from wiz spell list and not from the sorcerer's one by accident it will use your INT modifier to the check DC. The same for spells granted by items, it will always use the spell modifer of the newest class you get, so if you start as sorcerer and then multiclass to wizard, kareska favor spells will use INT.

Hey there! You can choose which attribute for casting. Though at some points it did default to int which was a pain to keep having to swap lol. Glad you enjoyed!

In all 8 runs I've had, I never found the One-Eyed disaster in the Underdark.

Idk if this was against your rules but in the shadow cursed lands you can walk around safe without a torch if you cast light on your weapon
I didn't know light :> I had it in my spell book, but I could only have 1 spell prepared.
Swapping it off got rid of it, so I just did the quest progression

You can definitely twin Ice Knife. I do it all the time.
If you're going to help Balthazar, then save Isobel for after that and you'll be able to warn Jaheira about Marcus and get her Harpers ready for that fight

I continued in custom mode. I didn't do single save for my own sanity lol

You can also 'cheat' Just keep an honour save. When you want to make a 2nd one. Move/copy the first one to a different folder and I usually add a number to them ...1 etc.
Then make your in game save. and proceed. If you want to restart from an earlier save, remove the number and copy that save back to the BG3 savegames folder.

Seems crazy risky to face Auntie solo without Freedom of Movement or the ring that does the same, one hold person will end you, glad it worked out.
I was fortunate for that crit, though the door strategy still would've worked. You've got three rounds of leeway before therse any hold persons.

regarding myrkul, on my solo ice enjoyer run I compensated for his sustain with psionic backlash ability from brain tree. the finger he uses is a lv 7 spell which means you can sometimes offset majority of the healing with reaction alone. Perilous stakes also forces vulnerability if it lands which can be huge. Other than that, twincasting ice knife is a huge help because you can aim one on him and one on the ground next to him for some messed up damage :)

How do you do honor mode bosses and difficulty with no single save? I've already got my golden dice but want to play against bosses with legendary actions but be able to load saves
If you die in honor mode, you can choose to continue it, you just don't get to earn the "honor" thing. I think. I could be wrong.
@@Venjamin you can but it is still "single save" format. I ended up downloading a mod that let me have load saves while still having the honor mode bosses and it worked.

He had a mod to enable saves on honour mode. He explained that when he selected the difficulty that he would still be saving to save his sanity

When you demonstrated what happens if you carry gold against Gerringothe and died, that means you played with Honor Mode diffculty, but used saves?
Yup mentioned at the beginning! Easier to record a run like this and still has the legendary actions of honor mode

I equipped the water staff when I didn't have a source of wet, which was a lot lol. Eventually I found a bunch of water bottles

I didn't have one :> I could only have one spell prepared as a level 1 wizard. I was able to get my protection relatively quickly. I didn't get the potent robe since I kinda let the emerald Grove die :x
There's that tower in the Underdark. You can get a ring that lets you cast Light from there.

Sorry to hear that, you can still get the gloves by doing Gluts quest in the underdark
@@Pheeon I searched up where else i could get them, then I did the quest and it bugged out! finished the spaw fight barely alive and glut gives me nothing no exp or item :D

Idk if this was known but the chilled condition still gives vulnerability to cold damage even if they originally had resistance. The ice staff applies the chilled condition as long as you deal ice damage so murkle may have been a little easier with it.
Unfortunately it would just negate his resistance, the spells I could personally cast were able to bypass his resistance anyways, but I did make use of it to help with my spellscrolls since they didnt bypass it. Still a rough fight!
But the glyph of warding uses the INT modifier in which you're not good with it
Yeah i swapped for icestorm when I could, But the Int didnt matter too much since its a dex save anyways, and encrusted with frost gives them disadvantage

Its a dexterity saving throw so its still tons of damage even if they save. Its the only AOE cold spell we have access to at level 3 spellslots so I felt it was worth it

Honestly, then only think I don't like about this run is the way you deal with Red dragon before the Elder brain. Seriously, I thuoght that honor mode showcase runs are supposed to showcase the ability to win fights without all that much cheesing. Is this one SO impossible?

Yup! I would definitely recommend it, When I got my second feat i mentioned in passing that the +2 charisma is good enough, no need to minmax for the strongest build
