  • In today's video I looked back into the past and talked about 5 different old removed attractions from knotts berry farm. There are a whole lot more of these old attractions that used to be at knotts berry farm. So if we can reach 300 subscriber's I will make a part two!
Ride videos in this video were original from: theme park galaxy, Hb videos, theme park review, xtremecoasters network, attraction spot and phsyclonesteve.

Dude, i can't believe you did not mention the Parachute Sky Jump ride. Honestly, one of the scariest ride because I never felt safe standing in the waist high cage as if feel to the ground....Twice lol

This list isn't complete without the Corkscrew. Back in the 80s that coaster was as tied to Knotts as Space Mountain was with Disneyland.

Completely agree - perilous plunge and windjammer were blips on the radar - corkscrew was the first inverting roller coaster ever. It’s now operating in Idaho or some place like that - you should check it out

Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain was the first steel coaster with an inversion. Corkscrew is now at Silverwood near Couer d' Alene, Idaho.

@@Risto999 actually no. Revolution was the first successful vertically looping coaster, but Corkscrew was the first successful modern coaster with inversions. Corkscrew debuted in 1975, and Revolution a year later in 1976.

Perilous Plunge I remember had a lot of mechanical issues. And shortly after it opened, it was literally a perilous plunge for some lady who fell to her death from it because of design flaws in the restraints. The restraints they replaced them with were complicated and made for sluggish loading and unloading procedures. So they later reprofiled the boats which sadly reduced the amount of splash. These and other factors eventually led to its demise.

The Dinosaur ride that replaced Berry tales was one of my favorite dark rides ever. I have gotten to ride the new Berry tales and it is pretty fun and has short lines on busy days. It’s pretty good graphics and the shooting is responsive to your aim , it works great.

Between "Kingdom of the Dinosaurs" and the new "Knott's Beary Tales - Return to the Fair", there was "Voyage to the Iron Reef", which was the first interactive, 3D ride.

Wacky Soap Box Racers was originally Motorcycle Chase, but the motorcycles were replaced with the soap box cars a year or two later. The motorcycles didn't have much restraint to them and had a high center of gravity, making them dangerous. The soap box cars had a much lower center of gravity.

Knott’s is a small park and has needed to replace many attractions to stay current. Who remembers the burro ride and Henry’s Auto Livery?
What are we getting now, Fiesta Village 4.0? I loved the Tijuana Taxi, Fiesta Wheel, and Mexican Whip (Tilt-a-Whirl). Then came Tampico Tumbler, Grand Slammer, XK-7, and WindSeeker (which was removed for mechanical failure and the State of California not liking the rescue mechanism Knott’s came up with to rescue people stuck at the top).
Little remains of the original Roaring ‘20s and Airfield. Gone are the Corkscrew, Whirlwind, Loop Trainer Flying Machine, Sky Jump, and Whirlwind.
The Wacky Soap Box Racers was actually the Motorcycle Chase 1.3. Motorcycle Chase opened intertwined with the Auto Race. The Steeple Chase style roller coaster gave many people back issues and the track was reprofiled. The ride experience was never what it was meant to be and was repurposed into the Soap Box Racers. This ride was slow and boring, and I can not understand the love people give to this. I am sure it would have been better if it was redesigned from the ground up.
As for dark rides. Don’t forget the original, Calico Mountain Mine Train! It’s so authentic that many people forget this is a dark ride.

Windjammer was a shame because the area looked amazing with all the beach theming. But yeah the coaster stunk! I'm a bit surprised that Knott's hasn't brought back the Soap Box Derby Racers. S&S did announce they've reintroduced the Steeplechase so they could if they wanted. KBT was cool but so was Kingdom of the Dinosaurs, I wish they would've done more of a traditional dark ride rather than a screen ride for it's replacement but yeah at least the bears are back. A modern Sally dark ride would be cool at Knott's as well.

    Great choice for Number 1!
The original KBT was amazing! Its still high on my list to try and recreate in VR. The blacklight and all the other stuff the videos don't show were amazing. If anything the new KBT kinda gives you a near perfect idea of what the lighting was like that the footage doesn't capture.

One thing that people miss when talking about Perilous Plunge ( I was there the day it happened ) was that the lady was very obese and was cautioned not to get on. She insisted. The ride operator should have stood their ground and called for a manager but what's done is done. She wanted the ride of her life, and she got it.

It's odd to hear a kid talk about rides they weren't even alive for their existence. I can tell you from personal experience Windjammer was hated because it destroyed your neck and back. Between the terrible track, transitions and restraints...you got ROCKED riding that piece of shit. I was 15 when I rode it in 1998, and that was prior to 3 motorcycle accidents (going 65+), 2 car wrecks (t-boned and someone pulling out in front of me where I t-boned them...their fault though), various injuries from sports in high school, and just being rough on myself...and it rocked me. The Soap Box Racers were removed for that piece of shit and they were SO MUCH fun! Your list is really funky man, I don't get if you mean "Top 5" in a good-way, or if you mean just random 5 rides that aren't there because I don't understand the connection between a terrible opening day ride that was replaced with a better one (the time machine ride), the worst rollercoaster ever made in this country, and some extremely fun rides I wish were still there. My personal list of actual top 5 missed rides (that I rode plenty as a kid) would be: Kingdom of the Dinosaur, Perilous Plunge, Soap Box Racers, XK-1 and Montezuma's Revenge.
Funny story that happened on Kingdom of the Dinosaurs during a Knott's Scary Farm event in 2001 in my Senior year of High School. I was riding it with my buddy and his girlfriend I went with and this random girl jumped out of the vehicle in front of us (leaving her friends) and jumped in ours. I was in such confusion I just went with it and asked her how she was doing and I'll never forget her response "better now! Oh hi I'm Brittany. Oh you two are cute" (referring to my friends). Then she put her arm around me and ya I didn't see anymore of the ride lol. My buddy had his girlfriend distract her after we got off the ride, so we could talk. It worked out insanely perfect because I felt like a 3rd wheel since my GF and I had broken up a few weeks before. If ever there was someone I would describe as "spunky" it was that girl, she ended up hanging out with me for a bit but her friends were being lame and pulled her away to go off. I got her number (on my fancy gameboy screen flip phone) and we ended up seeing each other a few times since she lived in Orange County too. But man, that was so random. Disneyland and Knott's used to be prime real estate for meeting girls for some reason in the late 90's/early 2000's. I already shared one story, I don't want to type any more but ya, it was good to grow up in Orange County in the 90's/2000's, that's for sure.
