    This is the first time I've seen you and you have wonderful information for everyone ❤. Thanks so very much. I was 18 when I sewed my Wedding Dress. I made a mockup one so that I didn't ruin my bridal fabric. My Mom taught me how to see when I was a small child. If it wasn't for the skills she taught me I couldn't have made the dress. After some time off I've returned to my sewing.

    Stacy - update: I've gotten through much of this top but found the lap of the collar in front to have confusing directions. I interpreted it to require turning the collar in half before basting so that it will lay flat, similar to a shawl collar. When I tried it on for fit, the neck and collar are huge and show my bra and what's in my bra. After rewatching your video, I think the collar ends should be flat, instead of folded, before basting. The instructions and illustrations could be much clearer about how to assemble this part of the top. Tomorrow, I'll get busy with my trusty seam ripper and unfold those collar ends so I can lap them flat. Thanks so much. Cheers from Oklahoma and the home of OU!!

    • @stacyrobbins
      @stacyrobbins  Před měsícem +1

      The neck instructions are missing some info! I wondered how the collar version would go. It seemed light on instruction. I loved Norman when we lived in Moore. I would nip down Sooner Road or I35 all the time! We would have lunch at Hollywood Corners. We loved our time in the OKC area.

    That turned out so cute! I love it with the white pants. I am also trying to add to my summer wardrobe. I got this gorgeous pink linen, similar to the same color as your top fabric, and I just don't know what dress to make with it. I have a few pieces of linen waiting for the right project too! The garden is going great. I am so spoiled by having home grown, vine ripened tomatoes. How is your garden? Didn't you do a winter crop? How did it turn out?

      @@stacyrobbins I tried doing a cover crop but it didn’t do hardly anything. I think this year I am going to just cover my beds completely with ground cover over the winter. Lately I have been dealing with invasive worms called jumping worms. Have you heard of them? So gross!! 🤢 My tomatoes are just starting to ripen. Mainly cherry tomatoes so far but my paste tomatoes are blushing and I am picking a little early because the birds keep pecking at them and ruining them. It’s always something! 😂

      @@reneemorgan9320 We put in tobacco plants to help keep the hornworm away. I will have to look up the jumping worms. 🤢 My dog barks at the birds when she sees them so far we are winning. I tend to pick them a bit early too. I will be canning salsa this weekend. Maybe a few pickles too. 🍅🍅

    • @stacyrobbins
      @stacyrobbins  Před 2 měsíci

      Welcome! I mark in different way depending on the fabric. Often I use a fabric marking pencil/crayon that is soft and waxy. While the pattern is still on the fabric I put a pin through the circle pull the fabric apart just enough to see the pin and twist the pencil on the marking. At the end of the Kalle Shirt (cutting out) I show markings I did with a mechanical pencil. I show it in a few other videos too. I want to do more small stand alone videos on things like this.
