I would have look past this pattern because of the styled picture. Thanks so much for bringing it to our attention.
Ne drawing on the back. This gives you a better idea. Styling isn't always the best on patterns is it!!!
This is an old style, over 30 yrs ago.I have made tights, jammies, evening, track pants. Etc. Even unisex. Back, and front in one, pattern.
Thanks for sharing
I have three boys and every summer I would make their shorts exactly like this pattern. I would stack multiple layers of fabrics and cut them all out at once and spend the whole day Just making shorts. I found that this method was the fastest overall.
You are making me want to do garment sewing again!!
Me too!
Just what I was looking for - fast easy knit pants. Thank you so much!
What a great pattern and instructional video. Thank you for breaking it down into an understandable format. ❤
I have this pattern and even got it out last evening. Now to purchase the knit fabric to Go with it. I am so glad I opened my tablet tonight and lo and behold your video was there.
Thank you for sharing your tips for sewing them.
Cute Miss Laura, but I need me pockets.📱💙
Sinclair Poppy. In 3 heights so the body fits.
Oh I love this. I’m going to write these pattern numbers down and definitely give it a try.
Hello Laura great tutorial on making pants Thank you for your time in making this video. And sharing it with all of us.
You have so many great tips. I always learn from you. The pants look really comfortable. Easy to sew and easy to wear.

6:11 -- Brilliant pinning tip to keep the pins out of your way when serging your pieces. 🎉🤩
You did an awesome job! You are a wonderful educator! Thanks for the inspiration and the thorough instruction! ❤

i've been looking for an easy pant pattern! Thanks!
What a sweet pattern! Thanks for the tutorial!
Those look so lovely! BTW.. you have such pretty hands.
Would love to see more detail on adjusting the dart and finishing seams without serger. Cute pants. Thanks
Thank you.. I like the marker you used!
Great video thanks :)
Wow! What a great video! And just what I was looking for! Thank you.
Love these! I’m gonna give it a try
I have this pattern and cant wait to try it!!
Great tips! Thank you!
Thank you Laura great video x
We'll done tutorial. It was very professional
Very helpful video! Thank you.
I remember spending hours looking through the Butterick and McCall's pattern books and then getting the pattern out of the giant drawer! Thank you for reminding me. I was never very good at sewing but I tried hard. My Mom made clothes her entire life for all of us.
Great tutorial! Subscribed immediately.
I think I’ll try the buttermilk pattern. Do you use wooly nylon thread for these or just a knit needle is enough. The larger hem for weight to drape nice is a great tip. Easy pieces who wouldn’t love this . It’s a lot easier than taping 2 reg pant pattern pieces to cut as 1 piece. Which is doable then there would be no dart area and a pain to create. 👍 thank you for showing clothes making. I mostly make clothes and crafts no quilts.
Another well-thought-out tutorial, Laura. Thank you so much!
Question: Could you combine the front and back of a simple, straight leg, elastic waist pants pattern (i.e., tape the front/back together along the side seam), draw a dart like the one in Butterick 6966 to take in some of the fullness, and cut the front/back out in the same way as the Butterick pattern? I like the idea of a one piece front/back that has some tapering on the side at the hip to give it more shape, and I have many straight leg elastic waist patterns that would fit the bill (and save me from buying yet another pattern ... not that that's a real issue 😉)
In any event, I'd certainly love to see more garment tutorials. 😊
I have bought this pattern and I’m curious as to why the wide-leg version has one large waist-dart and the straight-leg version has 4 smaller waist-darts? Has anyone made both versions? I’d guess that 4 darts gives a better fit. And presumably you could mix and match the leg shape with the waist shaping by cutting the paper patterns at the crotch line (the crotch points on the two pattern pieces do match up - I checked!) and sticking them to the other leg shape?
awesome and thx!
I bet you could even do a skirt with the pattern. Have you made either of the blouses? I love your videos.
Not yet!
I love your style of teaching, but would be even more impressed if you demonstrate a way to add functional deep POCKETS.
There must be a way to do this, even in knit clothing…
I can’t wait to get these patterns… Thank you so much.
Could you sew the M Calls pattern too please
Thank you for this vlog. I have such trouble with knit/jersey fabrics sewing on the machine. Any tips from anyone would be of great help. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing!!!! New subscriber.
Could you do a video about adding pockets?
Thanks!
Thank-you
Looks like fun. I'll have to get this one. Do you have an idea of how to add pockets?
GREAT Tip for the dart, pinning! I'm surprised you aren't marking the notches. I'm jealous of your serger/coverstitch machine. Is it worth the investment?
Thank you so much! I ordered the pattern! What type of stitch do you use for most of those seams? Thank you!
Today I purchased both patterns. Thank you for this great tutorial. On pattern envelope B6851, it only lists knit fabrics under suggested fabric type. Can woven not be used? Please advise suitability.
❤
❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing! Can you please tell me the name of that white chalk or marker you used? I’m having trouble finding one that works on knits. Thank you!

Can you add side pockets?
What are you using to mark the fabric? I’ve never seen a gadget like that!
I’m sorry if I missed it: What kind of fabric did you use? That’s always the hardest decision for me…
She used a knit for the tutorial, but the equivalent McCalls pattern had a zipper in it so you could use a woven on that one.
Is there allowance for petite sizing in the pattern?
Because you adjust the tissue paper, it does work. I do recommend doing the tissue paper fitting first. And then you will always have a good copy
How wide are your seams?
I made these back in the 1970’s.
👏🏻👗
How do you shorten the crotch length? all of my pants that I have purchased are too long through the crotch and I wear them pulled up almost to bra level?
Apologies if I missed this somewhere, but what is the marking tool being used? I'd like to find one!
And the FIT???
Where do you get the pattern paper fabric?
What happened to using Lutterloh?
I use all kinds of patterns 😊 that's why I love sewing
What is name of quilt pattern behind you?! Thanks.
I NEED POCKETS.
Could you use quilting cotton instead of knit fabric?
No, this pattern is definitely made for a stretch knit.
I’ve never seen a marking device like that. Where did you get it?

A great trouser pattern I'd never make pants i.e pants are under wear these are trousers why don't people get it right
I'm guessing that is American English versus British English...?
😂😂😂 Underpants are underwear. Pants are a more casual form of trousers. Why don't people get it right?
I wish the fabric wasn’t black. It’s hard to see what you’re sewing.
