When I was a child mid 1960’s we had metal climbing structures very similar to “ when kids were allowed to be kids”. We loved it, but many children ended up with broken bones from falling off of the two story tall structure. They didn’t remove it despite the injuries, we were told, “just be more careful”. 😂

Same was true in the 70's. Actually, casts from broken bones were a part of childhood. They weren't cause for litigation but a chance to collect signatures & doodles on the cast from friends

Yep, I remember kids showing off the art on their casts with pride

Agree, from todays view the older playgrounds were suicide places. And did anyone noticed that in 1907 there was no prob that white kids playing with black?

I remember going to Woolworth counter! It's the first place I ate alone as a teen, paying the bill myself & leaving a tip. I felt so grown up 😂

Another great selection. I think I loved the last one the most - the young ladies on the steps. It's a reminder that at the end of the day, we have more in common with the past than we believed. It's especially true when we view our grandparents & great- grandparents as old, forgetting they were just like us, even though times have changed. Thanks!

So true! … We often forget they were human … they had dreams, made mistakes and were just trying to figure it all out like the rest of us
