What baffles me is why WWE allows the Canadian but not a traditional pile-driver. The recipient lands in pretty much the exact same position in both.
As far as the diving headbutt, I've always hated the move. It just really looks unintelligent. I used to think it made Chris Benoit look bad that his move hurt him more than it hurt his opponent.
I really wish Brock's shooting star press would have worked out at WrestleMania. If only Kurt were a bit closer, it could have been such an amazing moment, rather than the disaster it ended up being. He had done the move correctly several times in his early career.

You can roll out of a Destroyer, a normal piledriver, you can't really do that so much. Normal piledriver IS a higher risk to be spiked on your head, as the opponent sits downwards, a Destroyer, you're flipped into it and not spiked downwards.

It always looked like the ring had extra bounce to it toward the prime days of ECW. That's why I think many wrestlers could get away with more dangerous moves. In Japan they seem to use many more dangerous moves. That's why I always liked Kenny Omega in New Japan since he could use his whole move-set. I often wonder why other wrestling organizations never used a more trampoline type ring so more dangerous moves could be used safely. I think That's why Tazz was buried in WWE since Taz-plexed Angle on his head. I think it ws harder for him to be able to execute his suplexes safely in WWE due to his height, and WWE wrestlers being taller than the ones he worked with in ECW. I've never seen his front capture suplex being used in WWE since.

The diving headbutt is not as dangerous as you make it out to be. Normally, you land head turned to the side, forearms flat on the mat so you barely make contact with the upper chest of your opponent, if you even do make contact. For Benoit and Dynamite Kid, they literally took the business to a point where it was their entire lives to make sure the fans knew it was real. So, they’d make contact. They’d gauge just about where they can get away with it, aiming for the top of the shoulder everytime, that’s a lot more bone-y than a pec, well.. that’s where you go wrong. From headbutts, no one else has gotten hurt from them. In Benoit’s case, it was from unprotected chair shots, working through concussions multiple times, and having to make everything look so real.

In all fairness to the diving headbutt wrestlers today do it differently so that they can protect their heads. Noone actually makes head to head contact and sometimes their heads don't even hit anything

Yea, they generally lead in with their shoulder if you look at some of them on this video. One move the WWE has banned is the simple piledriver, the move that really hurt Steve Austin.

For me, moves that give the impression of brain trauma risk like the piledriver, the DDT, the brainbuster, the curbstomp is what makes me like to watch wrestling. I really love to imagine what kind of brain and neck damages these moves would cause.

The diving headbutt should 100% be banned
Harley race did it as safe as you could neck issues and not a good life as an old man
Dynamite kid did it more recklessly and became a shell of himself and confined to a wheel chair
Chris Benoit did it without any self preservation and eventually lost his mind.

i remember back when no one would take a Canadian destroyer, now everyone and their grandmother does it making the move boring as shit just like the super kick. also the Styles Clash was banned in wwe, it only got unbanned thanks to chris jericho when aj and himself had a match, chris jericho pushed and pushed vince to unban the move. would of thought someone who does videos like this would of known that.

    Couple of things:
    1. You pointed out Daniel Bryan and Lars Sullivan use the move in WWE (both of them arent even signed anymore). No current WWE star uses that move.
    2. Goldberg was supposed to do the Jackhammer to the Undertaker. Not a brainbuster

I think the way the Road Warriors did it was banned. Because Animal would flip the person off his shoulder while Hawk gave the closthline. I know one of the Godwins got rrally hurt in 97 by that move. Everyone else does the move like in the games where all three go to mat which does look safer.

To be fair the shooting star press and brainbuster isn’t that bad can it cause a serious injury? Yes but those moves don’t really have a bad legacy the brainbuster is a modified suplex, the shooting star obviously has to be in perfect position but these days wrestlers hit it to perfection so I don’t think it needs to be banned
