Whichever band member decided to have a sexy funk breakdown after a metal track is a genius. I cannot wait to see them live someday.
Would almost exclusively be Vessel 1 (the vocalist) as there are only 2 official members of the band the other being Vessel 2 (the drummer) 1 is responsible for EVERYTHING aside from drums.

There are 4 official members. Unless something has changed in the last few days. It’s Vessel, II, III, & IV.
Vessel is the only one with a “name” the others are just numbers. There used to be a female member who played keys as well.
@@Dr0fnad only 2 official members listed on any and all albums or recordings. III, and IV are paid touring musicians same as the ex keyboardist. All writing and recording is done by Vessel and II

before i saw The Summoning, i had not heard any Sleep Token, now i'm currently checking out their back catalog. WORSHIP
Make sure not to miss the standalone single Jaws, and When the Bough Breaks, from their first ep... Why did nobody tell me about this band?!

That's EXACTLY the song that got me into them! My sister showed it to me instantly learned it on piano and have been listening to stop and now I'm also just obsessed with take me back to Eden it's such a masterpiece! I can't wait to see them next year in Sydney

I think you should try reacting to blood sport "from the room below version". The pure technique and raw emotion vessel plays in this song is pure beauty.
I would recommend Sleep Token, Blood Sport (from the room below), its a amazing view of Vessels voice, a real tear jerker too just from the pain he can show through his expressive voice.
You MUST go down the Sleep Token rabbit hole. These guys are brilliant and there are so many amazing records. Blood Sport (from the room below), Atlantic, telomeres, chokehold, granite, the offering, so many!!!

There's a live video on CZcams of Sleep Token performing a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah". It's just Vessel (the lead singer) with a guitar and supported by a female backup singer. It verges on the sublime. This man, whoever he is (he's a bit of a mystery, FYI), has an amazingly emotional voice with a distinctive timbre that lends itself BEAUTIFULLY to that song. It's certainly not something you would expect from your typical metal band.

jaws is my favorite sleep token song, definitely check it out! he does some beautiful vocal layering in it and the instrumental is just as fantastic. the love you want is beautiful as well, plus the video is one of the prettiest i’ve ever seen. welcome to the fun, glad you loved the song!
Jaws is great!! Although The Offering is one of my favourites and the first song I’d heard from them. The summoning hands down is my fave so far though

I love how she's so into the music! When I first heard it, I think I cried at that middle synthesizer section. Something about it definitely invoked a particular feeling I was vulnerable to. With how the track switches up at least three times, it was a real roller coaster. I was introduced through Chokehold, but The Summoning enraptured me. Now I'm stuck on almost all of their discography. *W O R S H I P*

It's nice to hear people breathing life back into the styles of music we grew up listening to in the 90's with a touch of a bit of everything. I'm hearing blast beats/metal, prog rock, great singing with a little death vocals in there, impressive guitar solo, keyboards with some funk R&B kind of stuff at the end. I'm excited to hear more from these guys. 👍

I think sleep token is so clever. They catched the fact that the most big bands / singers writing only 2-3 minutes songs. They combined this new art of music in a song. While adding different parts to a song without loosing the red line…. i think our generation needs lots of inputs. We are used to that since digitalization. And they serve this.
I hope sleep token really goes some where. Honestly amazing musical writing and performances. Especially live.

Rebecca, I have been a fan for a long time. Your reactions are some of my absolute favorites. Please, please, please react to one of the Sleep Tolkien songs that shows off Vessel’s ability to use his voice to pull you into what he’s experiencing.
“Levitate”, “Give”, “Bloodsport”, and “The Love You Want” can make you feel things so deeply.
You could talk about these guys for hours and pause every second and I’m here for it.
