In this video, I demonstrate the proper method of repairing a broken turn signal indicator lens. Many of vintage lenses are not available any longer so it makes sense to just repair what you have.

It even magically received the inside pattern too, you are so badass.
I tried searching for some of that C4 moulding putty online to repair my scooter indicator and now I'm in a badass prison on terror charges. Thanks Ichiban Moto
If this was more recent I’d think it was from the marine base.
I used that same mold putty to caulk my fireplace against air leaks. Won't know how well it works until this winter.
Lmao
I just made whole headlights for my Nissan Xterra using your technique. Thank you for the tutorial! Saved me a lot of $$$.
that is so awesome !
This repair was only possible thanks to spork.
Thank you spork.
All hail the mighty SPORK!

Ichiban, you're amazing mate, love these videos, thanks so much.
you are very welcome ! thanks for watching and sharing :D
This method beats carving a new lens out of a block of plastic! Thanks Ichiban!
I know , right?
you make everything look so easy. never thought of using C4 for that use, amazing ingenuity.
yea, C4, C5.. whatever is on sale
Your videos are brilliant. Literally at least an out loud chuckle every time.
then I'm doing my job :D
This is now my favorite and I've watched all of your videos. My custom café racer is almost complete. Thanks man!
haha ! thanks for watching and sharing !
Genius!
Thank you sir for sharing your awesome knowledge with us.
All the very best.
Take care,
Steve. 👍👍
Awesome job! love that polish too! Nigal will be happy! 👍
Quite frankly I'm stunned with the results....... Really ! Good job professor.
you are very welcome :D
Great work man!
I'm going to send away for some cotter pins to secure my creaky floorboards tomorrow. Just the thing !. Thank's for the inspiration and solving my problem. I'm sure I won't be disappointed !. You are a genius, Sir.
they are handy little devices to have around
Nice. DIY. Pride of ownership.
Excellent repair work and I have found the polishing compound with the micro-beads in them work just great! I also thought the comment about blasting cap separation technique to be cutting edge and very innovative. Keep up the good work and it looks like your little bag of mental stimulation herb is almost out!
Cheers to all!
.. oh, reminds me to fill that perscription
Awesome repair!
safety first !
Omg, you are the funniest guy on CZcams, I don’t know where you get your inspiration from? Army surplus putty, pmsl
i love your way to fix.
That repair is bad ass sir!
Great tutorial on how that all works! You are bad ass for sure!
easy peasy
That was very cool!
Amazing repair! Looks like new. :)
well, at least good enough to pass safety inspections
Brilliant I'm now going to repair my shattered window with the same process.
maybe use different colours and create a mosaic of patterns
Ichiban Moto ah yeh good idea just wasn't sure if the different colours would make it an MOT failure
@@DiesInEveryFilm he needs g10 dust!
Wow, it looks as good as new !! (-:
Amazing job...
Thanks it worked perfectly for me
you are very welcome ;D
so pleasant when you can blow spirit into broken things and make it work again, I do the same with anything i can repair and its way cooler than buying new one :)))
awesome bro
My Great Grandson was in the army back in 1779 and he brought tons of that putty home with him.. we never knew what to use it for !!!! NOW WE KNOW ! Thank you Ichiban for clarifying what to use in on......
oh, sure no problem- happy to help !
The Ichiban Magic !
how can you get the alignment so perfect? beautiful work.
Interesante... Good stuff
love it!
JOYful moment~
learn and laught
love this 2 in 1
thanks
now that's a good value
Every screwdriver I've ever seen you use is class A
of course. they are hand crafted bad ass awesomness . I have a video making them on youtube
wow , Power Scissors, diamond bit drill and that duct taped screwdriver. never knew i will see all those in this video.
Thanks man..............
i make those screwdrivers if you need one
great video
thanks for watching and sharing ! :)
You sir are badass
amazing thanks
Unbelievable. Good job.
your garage project is progressing nicely !
Thanks - getting there.
That army surplus molding putty is pretty neat! I need to make a new lens to the headlight of my café racer, i'm going to use your technic after i can buy the kit from Nickletown Customs!!!
+1 no sense doing something one-off when kits are available :)
Nothing beats that feeling of getting a fresh ticket on your bike for another year!
I know, right ?
Excellent!!!! Where to find raisin is my problem in my country..
Great job as usual, I would have gone for a candy wrapper and sellotape, but I'm just an armature
that's a quick fix, yet not not road legal for safety inspections
bad ass brother
ok, some of your stuff im not sure about, but this is fucking magic.
Can I use Marine grade putty instead of Army surplus...
outstanding! I do have to ask of those that hit the thumbs down.... "what exactly were you expecting?" badarse as we might say this side of the Atlantic ;-)
Blame the Australians. Their thumbs up looks upside down to us.
B B B B BAD TO THE BONE total BADASSS thanks for another ''top tip''
Pure genius...or its witchcraft! Either way, I'm impressed yet again by your skills my friend.
it's nothing magic... just science ;)
I subscribed and I've been watching these videos for a while now and i still can't ... i mean i don't know if he really fixes all these items with these original and crazy techniques or if it's just a big fat (funny, very well acted and assumed) joke.
Either way i love the videos and their tone !
signal lenses are serious business
I have the resin already what color should I make it to fix my broken soul? its missing a lot of chunks.
Great video, great fun, but I do have a question: After the 180, you get a mold pattern that goes all the way around for the exterior of the lens, this is good, but when you fill the back with putty, how do you keep the inside contour to make the "void"?
just flip it around 180 too
Awesome
i know, right ?
Wonderful repair, Ichiban! I use the same putty. How do you dispose of it? I've had terrible trouble with it reacting with other contaminants in my garbage can (cigarette butts, matchsticks, candle-wax etc). The city are refusing (excuse the pun) to take my garbage after what they term "An apocalyptic event in their incinerator furnace". Any ideas would be gratefully accepted.
wouldn't it be much easier if you just remove the right side indicator lens and make a perfect copy of it without any flaw?
Dominick Koo
You’re not a regular Ichiban Moto viewer are you?
What’s the fun in that? Lol
Those indicator lenses are obviously 'handed' otherwise he would have done what you said.
@@nexpro6985 Yup. You can’t put the passenger lens on the drivers side. Duh.
@@whereswaldo5740 you do realise I was kidding, right? This is an Ichiban vid lol.
Bril job. Just one point. The cotter pins. Around here we call that style a nail.
oops! i now realized that this is a joke! Sorry for calling you a fraud! lol!
I lost it at "Army surplus putty"!
Applying a little heat to the moulding putty can soften it and help it to take fine detail more easily. If you going to use a blow torch then make sure no petrol or oily rags in the area, safety first!
As an asides I did see a dude at a recent bike run with Ichiban motor tattoo on his arm. Bad ass.
...speechless...
Can't wait for the how to make a swivel screwdriver.
agree but i need one to around a corner
I actually have one of those
hai bro, what kind of resin that u use? can i use ab resin/epoxcy resin
I would think so... ?
Another brilliant tutorial ! Make sure you don't smoke near that moulding putty........
C4 is fairly safe as explosives go, you need a combination of extreme heat and a shock wave.(ie blasting caps) to set it off. You can burn C4 like wood and even shoot it with a gun and it won't explode.
Thank god for the Nobel peace prize ;-)
As far as I know RDX (The explosive part of Compound C4) has little to do with the Nobel peace prize. The only connection I can make is that it was designed to be more powerful than TNT which was created by Alfred Nobel.
And I think Nobel created the first plastic explosive. But I am not sure.
...Dynamite.....nitro-glycerine and porous clay (bentonite)....
When you gonna do a vid on "How to fix a screwdriver with ductape"
At 4:14 with that hand still I busted up laughing
Badass
omg i just ran across your vids today. There's a lot of truth mixed with total BS i wonder how many people have tried some of your Ideas and never realized you were BS'ing them.
Just subbed!!!
yes, (B)rilliant (S)olutions for all !! :)
+Ichiban Moto lol perfect response
bad ass!
Suuuuuuppprrrr..bbbbbb.. 👍🤘
i would have like to see how the real one turned out.
I heard it is easier to remove from the mold by using a blasting cap.
That only works with the military surplus putty.
Yes, but it is worth it. And that plastic tap from when filling the mold, will also get removed at the same time.
+Captain-Slow that's genius I must go try it I always have trouble getting that out.
Tried burning the putty away for ease, couldn't find the lens after, definitely wear safety goggles. 0/5 stickers
Bad Ass! That looked like some Colgate plastic polish, they must branching out.
they own just about everything now
Is the dye food coloring
wow
What model Triump is that? A GS750T?
it's a GN .... very rare bird
"Army surplus putty" Ha Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
I'm not cheap, I'm thrifty !
Army surplus putty=C4 hahaha
Army surplus putty and antique yard art instant moving system...
Rose's are red
Violets are red
Trees are red
Grass is Red
HOLY SHIT THE YARD IS ON FIRE!!!!!
hey +ichibanmoto can u list all the inderegents to make a lens.
its just resin and dye
Where can I get the materials for making?
@ Ichiban Moto ior whoever has the info :D
what resin is that exactly? I as well need to patch/recreate part of a turn signal lens and what ever epoxy putty I tried doesn't work 100% . it either doesn't grip on the lens plastic (like fiberglass) or it's not UV resistant or even not water resistant (like Gorilla epoxy) or or or.
thanks!
Is that putty Army C4 Plastique (RDX) explosive? (I know it's safe without a detonator and of relatively low toxicity)
If so, are you using it because it's cheaper than other synthetic putties?
It does not stick, and it holds the shape well.
And, of course, it's cheap and available.
Thanks - All those are important considerations :-)
nah, he just happened to have some lying around
+George Tsiros I suppose it's reusable too, unless it's been detonated of course ;-)
Phill Birch you can still use it, it's just a big hassle that you have to go around collecting the pieces together :(
Un génie, tu es un génie xD
Hi there what chemical u usesir
24 hours since my first view at the vid and i'm still laughing....
I just watched it again ..
Which chemical compound is used?
Nickletown Customs makes the best products
I can't get wich kind of resin you are using.. and how do i ask for the color ¿?
2 part lens repair resin with one millidrop of yellow and red
+Ichiban Moto i see.. i'll see of i can get that around here..
Guys, don't fall for it. This guy is just joking.
Can I use similar method for my camera lens? tehee
probably. send me that lens
Where can I buy it from? I checked on your website. There’s nothing there.
What are the material ?
can u repair 125 drk bike...?..
of course
You know how those old tri umps can be. So finicky
Im actually starting to become scared at the idea of ichiban moto and power tools. Its a God blessing he only has duct tape screwdrivers
Don't forget to donate any unused military grade modeling clay to the schools so the kiddies have something to make ashtrays out of and give to mommy and daddy for Christmas.
yes, think of the childrends
