Judging Squat Depth from 2 Different Angles

- I took footage of a single from yesterday's squat session w. two cameras. Notice how the left (taken from about chest height) appears higher, and the right (taken from knee height) appears deeper.
This is extremely helpful. Last week I was recording my squat from the floor and the depth looked good. Today I recorded my squat from an elastic band shelf at my gym and was really confused looking back at the footage; it didn't even look parallel. Then I squatted again, this time recording from the floor, and depth looked fine.
Glad it was helpful!
Really interesting. On first glance the camera angles don’t even appear to be too different. Left looks like a decent parallel. Right looks about another 2 inches further!
I agree! Neither looks high, but they look like two different squats!
on both angles your breathing is messed up
Set up is a mess for sure. Do you think it's messed up during the reps?
@@squatrx yup. should have your core engaged the whole time. gut shouldn't move if it's engaged.
@@MooseDoesStuff Well, yeah but when you breathe it's going to expand. I'm a big believer in "breath behind the shield", but when you inhale, it's going to move. The set up needs a lot of work though for sure.
@squatrx no, I have a video about proper bracing you should check out. your gut shouldn't move, your chest should. and you don't need big breaths, small ones are enough to have the pressure you need.
keep your abs fully engaged when under load. your diaphragm isn't stronger than your abs, so they only way abs move is if you've disengaged them.
@@MooseDoesStuff I'll look for it. I did a video about breathing probably 15 years ago (squat rx #10) that had good stuff (if I do say so myself...)
