  • My second day on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway and once again the weather gods were not with me. On days like this we just have to make the best of it - when all else fails the pub might be open!
If you haven't seen day 1 with a visit to Eskdale Mill you'll find it at • Two Wet Days on the Ra...

Hi Tim, thank you for such a beautiful walk. I can't find words to describe my excitement at being in your land for a virtual moment. Thanks my friend

I'll have to film it again in better weather, then you can see just how beautiful the English Lake District really is. Best wishes to you.

Try to pick some decent weather - not always easy in the Lake District - but you'll love it. Wonderful walking and scenery all round it.

Loved the eclatic rake of coaches River Esk was hauling. Most enjoyable sojourn.😊 cheers Euan

I'm sure the new coaches are more comfortable - and more expensive - for the passengers but they're out of proportion to the rest of the train and, to my mind, don't look well. However - one man's meat and all that - - -

Then you really must - but do try to pick a good day - not always easy in the Lake District!

I like how 'Bunny' is described as a "Ford Model T on wheels", because famously the car equivalent had no wheels.

Nice filming and might pay a visit one day when i do Muncaster Fell which is one of the Outlaying Fells of Lakeland by A Wainwright.👍

Muncaster Fell is a pleasant walk in dry weather - it can be a quagmire in wet conditions. I speak from experience!

I enjoyed the ride despite the rain it looked like the sheep were going to stop then they set off again, they could of let the other train chase them back home LOL

Dalegarth station was not the end of the line. It originally crossed the road and ran further along to quarries. Not a lot of people know that!

Quite right - I have filmed it from the air in previous videos.

    TOAST RACK COACH
Why on earth are the high screens being retained on the 'Toast Rack' coach.....?
I think these were put on during the madness of the Covid Lockdown.....
Hard to tell why they are still fitted....?
The look of the 'Toast Rack' coach....and of the whole train is spoiled by them.....

I can only agree with you. I'm a member of the society but such decisions are taken by others.
