Very well done tool review. It wasn't a rave review and it wasn't unduly negative. I wish more online tool reviews were as clear and honest.
As for the RIKON 25-010H itself, I think there are a lot of things to like about the machine. But, while most hobbyists would love the extra width of a 10" jointer, most bench top planers are 3 inches wider than that. It's too bad Rikon didn't use their 13" helical cutter head to produce a 13" wide combo machine!

Just picked this product up. Great tool for a small shop. Some of the parts mainly the fence are not made with quality in mind but just square it up and run with it, it does what it's suppose to do. As for the persons who snapped, don't know about that, sounds like a bad casting. Mine was pretty solid but I didn't torque it down much. Other than that it does what it's suppose to and I can't even hear it running over my dust collect. Great product.

WARNING: the fence bracket is pot metal. The first time I adjusted mine, it fell apart. You can literally snap the metal in your hands without tools. I contacted Rikon two days ago, and they still have not gotten back to me.

A minute to change back and forth is more the reasonable. Nice product.

I felt that the fence is the weakest point on this machine; there is only one adjustment knob for 2 degrees of freedom and the knobs are too close; Not a big deal as it was easy to replace with my own DIY fence. What I do really like is that if you don't use the dust collection hood, you don't need to swap over between planer/jointer operation.

How do you compare the Rikon with the Jet 8" JET JJ-8HH

I can't say much about the Rikon as I don't own one but, I hear good things about Rikon. From what I understand for hobbyists they are better than most. I just purchased and tried for first time today my JJP-8BT and from watching this video the Rikon is probably better. The quality appears better than mine and motor seemed to not labor in planner mode. Looked up price of the Rikon and almost fell over at $1999. I paid less than $500 for my Jet although it is only 8" compared to the 10" shown here. Very pleased with my purchase for the money I spent. I believe it will do what I need to do for a fraction of what the Rikon is going for. It just looks and sounds like the Rikon is a much higher quality. I am going to edge and plane 20 2x's tomorrow to start my woodbench project and after testing my Jet for about 1/2 hour today feel it will have no problem.
