Everything You Wanted to Know About Backsaws
sizzix great idea in great work I like how you did like the shadow box coffee table gives me many ideas for stuff I want to do.. but you definitely should have bought a bottle of Windex and cleaned up the glass it's really dirty must have had a bunch of food to eat and cut those fingernails yet thumb nail looks like no Nosferatu ! ☠️🧛
i typed in rust removel ....
Very nice presentation. Thanks a lot.
That scoring tip is a real winner! Thank you for sharing, that's going to be a real help to me.
New to wood working as therapy following heavy losses. Thank you for this!
Fantastic French Polish Primer!
Excellent video- thank you so much!
Hello, I’m just beginning my endeavors with the wood lathe, watching the High Speeds you were turning the stock with…..I better JUST TURN normal legs - until I get a better “feel” for the chisels. Thankyou kindly for showing us all this - Sir.
This is amazing. Thank you!!
Can you put it on the outside instead.
No
@@JeremyCarnahan is there a type of hinge that you CAN put on the outside?
Ernie, I was with you at the LAWA event this morning. You told us about this video and I just watched it. This was some very good material. That you for the workshop this morning and for this video.
seemed logical enough of a tip (pun) that not only on the outside, but I also used a pin and put it in the jelly then put it into the inside of the tip-hole a couple of times. Also, decided to store it sitting upright this time. Will know if this works - the next time I need some super glue in 14 months or whatever.
Hi very well presented like always. I love your clips. How did you install the Vice to MDF. I understand you can not screw into MDF. Please advice Thanks.
Bought this Rockler dovetail jig more than a decade ago on sale. Never got around to use it until restoring an antique desk with a missing hidden drawer. Fantastic tutorial! Will be building mine drawer soon and I’m actually looking forward to it.
Solid video 👍 thank you
Too bad you cant do this on a makita saw
I would not consider the 520 as a lower end model. The primary reason I upgraded from my old R3 to it, was it is the only model that really allows you to position it with it's handle. When making large panels or when you need to drill holes in assembled projects and tight spaces, the 520 excels in its ability to be used "free hand" and not on a workbench. The R3 was great, but a pain to position because you had to fiddle with a clamp to hold it in-place. Tip... apply some self-stick sandpaper to the inside clamping surfaces to make it hold even better.
Great video and just what I was looking for! Except!...you never explained how you attached the sides? How did you frame it out?
I feel like this is a direct commercial for General Finishes... And it seems you intentionally showed bad results of the milk paint powder.
Can you sand the dyed wood without removong the colour? I’m thinking of something like splined corners with contrasting colours.
what type alchol
Please don’t use a peel this nice as a cutting board! Also, the scratches will make it harder to launch your pizza
i dont have a bandsaw
Thanks for sharing!
Why haven't I seen this video sooner in my turning career? Good job Ernie. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences.
Quick and to the point, thank you.
I never thought of using mineral oil for lubricity. I've heard the wax is a nightmare.
What are your clamps called?
I purchased a pen blank drilling press. I made sure the table was square both ways to the chuck and never had a problem. I have turned about 20 pens so far and have never taken my mandril out of the lathe. It is far quicker than constantly taking the mandril out putting a jaw chuck or a drill chuck in and out. For greater control I do recommend a pen assembly press. I have never tried a potato but I have heard waxed paper from the supermarket works. I have not tried it yet but I will. I use acrylic blanks because they are so strikingly beautiful. Pen making is a great hobby. Happy days.
Those eyes ❤❤
Simple and brilliant, thanks
Thank you. Just used this idea to do wheels for a cart I'm making for our school production of Aladdin :)
Thanks for this. Really useful and very comprehensive.

If you'll swing by your local Tractor Supply, or any place that sell s horse tack, or leather products mainly, but in Tractor Supply, go back to the aisle with all the horse stuff and they should sell these little round sponges that are for applying saddle soap, mink oil, or leather polish. They come in bags of 10 and they are the perfect small applicator size ! They work great for applying dye on to wood !
Thank you for this video. Just curious how to position the jig for at a specific location? I built a router lift table and want to position my T tracks 3/4 of an inch on both sides of the router lift pocket. I can see using your jig, a real value, just don't know how to specifically place it on a 3/4 mark on each side of the pocket? Thanis.
Thanks for the info in the video! Cool channel! Did you notice ratatouille🐀 in the back at min 6:26-27
Thank You !!! Got some good ideas for some foot stools .
For teaching turning carbide tools are the best choice. It allows people to start turning without a lot of training. Teaching someone to ride the curve not to mention how to sharpen the tools is time consuming but with carbide they can start creating right away, giving them a sense of accomplishment. Sharpening is separate skill set that may people enjoy (me being one) but some people feel it interferes with what they are trying to do. Both have their place. Thanks

What kind of bit did you use? Is it working with metal sheet also? Like 0.5mm to 2mm?
Excellent video! Quick, informative, and to the point, I appreciate that!
